In my area there were guys and girls waiting before the store opens and before the stores close every day (not joking) every day and they took everything from mainlines to premiums. So some of the stores started to stock Hot Wheels during the day at random times because these guys and girls were fighting with each other and other customers complained. If a manager brought a box out for a customer and another customer saw this, they also wanted a box brought out to him/her or else they'd complain to HR so managers want to avoid this.

You also need to ask if the employees have already gone through the case because in my area, most stores have collectors working the toy department and cases get picked through before they even hit the aisle

Thanks for this info Shawn! I live in the UK ('til I get my move to the USA), so we don't have Publix as far as I'm aware, but Hotwheels are everywhere and its not hard to find a vendor. Thanks for this valuable info on how to acquire some of those much rarer and more expensive Hotwheels. Thanks to watching your video's, I actually discovered that I already had a T-Hunt, which was a big surprise to me. It was a '57 Plymouth Fury from 2009. Been sat on my shelf for years (unopened, and the amount of times I nearly opened it! 😂). Anyway, I appreciate your help, and, the world needs more people like you, helping the average/casual collectors have a chance to find some of those rare and sought after cars. I always help the employees out, straighten up the hot wheels aisle, put out the cars when I get into a case and never leave a mess. If you help them they will more than likely help you as well.

In my area, the employees are just fine, but you have to clean up! If you pallet raid, break down the boxes, peg the cars. Be neat! it pays off

Collect what you like! Some collectors are completist and one thing I like to be a completist about is supers and car culture chases. Other than that I am mainly a collector of premium cars and 80s corvettes!

I got back into the hobby when COVID started. I would only buy what I like. Then 2021 my son was born and bought doubles and triples of castings. Want his collection to mirror mine. Fast forward to the beginning of this year, we have a thousand combined. So now I’m strictly a Super/Chase hunter now unless something normal catch my attention.

In india, we recently started getting Hotwheels after a long time. But people buy in bulk and sell them online for 3 times the price, for treasure hunts, they go for 20 times the original price. Hunting on pegs is useless.

Even here in the UK, some individuals will come in and just rinse the stores of everything and wreck the boxes as they do it! :( As someone with longer working hours I can't get to the shops quickly enough and lose out on many opportunities, or left with broken boxes. R34 Skyline is most recognizable Hot Wheels car in the world. Even people who do not collect Hot Wheels, will buy Skyline as many as they can in order to resell. You have better chance to buy it online rather spend time and gas trying to find this car in stores.

It’s very exciting!! I try not to freak out to much when I’m filming in the middle of the store with a super in my hands. A worker might see you get super excited about a super and want to look in the next case that comes in. They aren’t into collecting but they see another way to make a dollar while at work.

Thanks for the info. I wish I would have known this when i started hunting. But i must say guys, it works! So one day, i was at a walmart for grocery shopping and i was curious if they had any car culture and mainlines and i had a employee scan both of them and it popped up that they had 1700+ cars in the back. So long story short, a guy went in the back and brought a sealed j case dump in. Me and my brother both found a super from it. It always pays to ask. Just yesterday i was at a walmart i had never been to and i had em scan a car and he brought out a sealed m case. Always ask! Thanks! Love your channel!

Hello, I'm looking for 3 miniature cars that I had as a child, which I think were from Hot Wheels, I'll describe them: 1 - A white "monster" style car with a skull using the United States flag as a bandana in the paint. 2 - A very simple green vintage style car. 3 - A red car with yellowed windows (this is the one I have the least memories of).

That blue car on the right for your second example of a Treasure Hunt car, I didn't see a TC on the car or the gold label on the package. Do they all not have those labels or markings? Or could I just not see it? I'm been collecting & racing cars for a long time, but I'm def a newbie to looking for Treasure Hunt cars. If I had that blue one on the right, I might have opened it & not even known. I guess I'm asking to clarify if there are ones with no labeling other than a variation from the base car? Number 1 tip to finding STHs is ASK. 4/5 of the STHs I have found have been from asking. Today I found 3 of the Firebird STHs at once because I asked an employee, and she brought out a sealed dump-in for me with 9 sealed cases in it. Always, ALWAYS ask.

Funny thing is I don't know how they actually were able to give you a date for the shipment to come in cause the Publix stores here it only tells them within 3 days so it doesn't obviously work for most Publix stores

I just go to the local Walmart at random times and pick up a few. My local Walmart has a few large end displays and two that surrounds the buildings support pillar. This guy in front of me was tearing up the display. And he hadn’t noticed the new Urban Legend Porsche he had skipped over. I always see guys that are not local and just don’t know how the store is displayed wasting time on the smaller isle displays.

So the best way to find one is to get a job at Wal-Mart mart or the Mattel distribution warehouse. I'm sure as an employee at Wal-Mart mart. They'd allow you dibs on purchasing them

My first treasure hunt of any kind was a super. A year and a half ago it was right on the front peg at my local dollar tree. And strangely it was like 7 pm when I found it. Then a month later I found another in a seemingly pre searched dump bin at the grocery store connected to the dollar tree. Now I’ve never found one since 😂

You will need to have the US card UPC code handy. Walmart and target are a little different. I would recommend going into the store and having them scan it. I’ve found that to work best. Happy Hunting!

If you have a Publix near by I hope you can take advantage of this trick. If you have been hunting a lot with little luck then you might have the same problem that I used to have. The UPC in the video won’t work at Target or Walmart. The UPC code provided in the video is the international card UPC. Target and Walmart sell US cards.

I use to head out on Saturdays and drive about an hour north on old roads hitting every Dollar Store and Family Dollar. They were super nice and some even let me go in the back and dig through the stock. I got a lot of Treasure Hunts this way and sold them on Ebay for like $10 each back in 2003.
