Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.

One of the smoothest most soulful songs ever recorded. And how about that bassline? This is just soul perfection... My favorite Temptations piece hands down. None of the classic lineup of the Temptations are with us anymore. Eddie Kendricks the tenor had an amazing voice. And we just lost Dennis Edwards in 2018... the other main lead singer on some of their biggest hits. May they all rest in peace. "My Girl" from 1964 is a legendary Temptations classic. Spoiler alert: the opening bassline and guitar riff is considered one of the greatest intros of all time... of ANY genre! If you're a musician and you grew up in the 60s or 70s..... You know this bassline.

The epitome of Motown R&B. The Temptations, The Four Tops, The Supremes, Smokey Robinson and the Miracles. Incredible sounds and wonderful songwriting. Carol King wrote quite a few songs for many of the groups, and Smokey Robinson was a prolific writer.

Finished high school in '66. Yes, I'm old. Grew up in South St. Louis and MOTOWN ruled. Blues was also big at that time. Those times were preceded by Little Anthony and the Imperials, Sam Cooke, and Lou Rawls just to name a few.

Love the Temptations music. This is part of the Motown era & they had a lot of hits in the 60's - 80's such as "My Girl", "Ain't Too Proud To Beg", "I Wish It Would Rain", "Papa Was A Rollin' Stone", "I Can't Get Next To You", "Treat Her Like A Lady" etc. They were known for their harmonies, choreography & dress style.

Ahhh, the year is 1971, I’m 12 years old and in 8th grade, and then I hear this song on NYC’s 77 WABC radio. I loved this song then and even more now that I’m 65 years old. This song finished at #10 on NYC’s 77 WABC Radio’s Top 100 of 1971.

Thanks for showing the lyrics. I knew the chorus but not really the other parts. Really noticed that brilliant accompaniment this time. In the old days, chances are it was coming out of a transistor radio the size of a cigarette pack. The quintessence of smooth.

Bald is definitely a better word choice there than bold. It's not that he's making bolder statements; it's that his statements at that point are becoming more self honest and evident, rather than dwelling in the fantasy. More bald; less shrouded in fantasy.

This is the typical Philly Sound... which is often called Motown, but there are differences. Love them both, but have some recognizable differences. Motown , pop influence, more geared to dance. THE Supreme, Marvin Gaye, Martha and the Vandellas. Philly Sound use of horns, fluidity, smoother , more soulful. O'Jays, the Delphonics, Hall&Oates, The Temptations.
