Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on KZbin, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on KZbin. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on KZbin, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

Stand Up! Yeah I love it, having been in my dad's collection in my 70s childhood. This song's apparently the genesis of Hotel California. The Eagles having toured with Jethro Tull prior to the smash hit.

Supposedly this chord progression was the inspiration for Hotel California. Ian Anderson didn't care. Not only is this a beautiful song musically, but the lyrics are a fantastic exposition of how to look at life. One of Tull's best. And the wa-wa solos....

...this is a banger indeed... liking this so much, you would absolutely adore their double album 'Living in the Past' (3 studio sides, 1 live side) - the studio material on this one is out of this world, and to my opinion holds up easily with this song - very underrated jewel from their early years... it came out only in 1972, and repeated a few good songs from earlier albums, which might be the reason, why no one talks about it these days... here some highlights of it: "Living in the Past", "Driving Song", "Sweet Dream", "The Witch's Promise", "Teacher", "Wond'ring Again", "Life Is a Long Song", "Up the 'Pool", "Dr. Bogenbroom", "From Later" - enjoy! 😎

Another great ballad on this album is Look Into the Sun, one of the most beautiful and meaningful songs ever written, about a missed opportunity for love. Check it out. And on Benefit, Nothing to See is a real banger of emotion of a failed relationship, and was Martin Barre's favorite Tull song. Also on Benefit, Anderson's acoustic guitar masterpiece, Sossity, You're a Woman, about a failed May-December romance, the album closer. Another interesting one on Benefit is For Michael Collins, Jeffrey, and Me, a philosophical song about the Moon landing and its meaning to the astronauts and the human race. Michael Collins was the astronaut who remained in the command module while the other 2 landed on the Moon.

Your analysis of the lyrics I think was spot on. Ian anderson is a great poet and philosopher. That is a great way to look at life to don't get complacent.Don't get yourself Down. You work hard to get where you're at and you're on the top right now, but faster than you got there. You can easily go down , so to the rest of, Maybe the band, who were leaving Shortly. you go your way, and I'll go mine, and Best of luck to what you find, but I've got to climb my mountain. You go climb yours. And we can see where ian has gone, and he wasn't even near his peak. now he's legendary. So is Martin. The two of them together were as great as any team in rock history.

There's an amusing controversy about this song which some folks believe the Eagles stole the chord structure to write Hotel California although Anserson himself said the pace and subject matters of the rwo songs is quite different.

now you're talking - i've been hoping you would get to something from TULL'S ' stand up album. this and the albums 'benefit' and 'aqualung' are my 3 favorites. saw them 3 times in their heyday between '71 and '75. one word : outstanding. this is the first album that amazing guitarist martin barre played on with them. he had his own distinctive sound - imitated no one. saw him 2 years ago with his band and the first half of the show was a tribute and history of TULL. at 75 he could still shred with the best of them. try a song called 'inside ' from the benefit album. more greatness from ian and the boys : kzbin.info/www/bejne/qImqf4p-pqt2epI

I also saw them 3 times in that period - were you at Kilburn Gaumont 26/02/1971 ?- began with My God - all the lights were out - they crept on and made everyone jump with full volume - missed the last train and had to sleep in freezing shop doorway until 6am. Always rated This Was Stand Up, Benefit and Aqualung above most other albums. This solo is not just brilliant virtuosity its a perfect length, and really knits together the whole song - it actually goes somewhere not just meandering for its own sake. Try also Michael Chapman - First Leaf of Autumn same era for beautiful guitar
