There is over a thousand dislikes of this song. I'm setting here going through the play list of songs from one of the iconic men and voices of any era. Most the songs have a multitude of dislikes. I know you can't please everyone. But for those who don't like or appreciate the voice and the talent of the late Kenny Rogers, you do not have a true understanding of talent and are void of any kind of music talent. Maybe your just that jealous and small minded. Rest in peace Kenny. We the real humans with heart will forever miss you and thank you for the decades of music you leave us to remember the good times. Sing with the angels brother.

I am at a loss for words hearing his passing. I am a musician and grew up listening to him and played many of his songs. But it wasn’t till a couple years ago that my girlfriend told me what this song meant. I was astounded that as many times I’ve heard it that it was about a woman supporting her other half who try’s to make a living playing music. Then it dawned on me my girlfriend says those same words to me when I get home “how was your night” and yes MANY nights I would tiptoe in the bedroom and get undressed as quietly as I could. How could I have missed that all these years? Rest In Peace Kenny and May comfort find your family and loved ones! Thank you to my girlfriend for all your support I love you!!!!❤️

Thanks, Kenny. For whatever reason, instead of country, I always thought of Kenny belonging in a category of artists who captured, totally, the mood of their time on the American stage, special to their days. They transcended genres and were ubiquitous - chapters unto their own in the American Soundtrack - Elton John, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson, Neil Diamond, Lionel Richie, Phil Collins, etc.

I was born in 1994, but I love this era of such sweet, pure love songs. I married my sweetheart last year after she and I had been in a long distance relationship between the U.S. and Japan for over a year and a half. I'll never know what she sees in me, and I don't know what I did to deserve her... but she gave me her heart, her life, her dreams, and her love. I want to faithfully give all that I have for her as well. Yoko, you are my best friend and the love of my life.

Im not a country music fan by any means. But there are a handful of singers in that genre that transcend. Kenny Rogers was certainly one of those voices. We believed every lyric he sang, truly a master of his craft. He's already missed.
