This was from a month ago, got suggested this now. I feel like in an attempt to motivate working mothers, we glorify the struggles of motherhood and make it look like it is a cakewalk. No, being the sole provider for a baby is not easy and any mother who left her job, who took a break in her career, who chose to stay at home with her baby is doing a LOT. A mother doesn’t have to be a successful professional to be appreciated. Every mother who loves her child and takes care of her child deserves appreciation irrespective of her professional achievements.

Finally a comment I am looking for. This is a mean strategy to overwork women - "praise them, praise them like shit" and work them like machines. On a day like Mother's Day/Women's Day, they give examples of women like in the video "Women can handle both - her career and her motherhood/other-household-responsibilities - hence she is great and she is the WOMAN". The next day, if the wife focuses on her career and asks her family to clean up after themselves, they say she has no qualities of a GOOD MOTHER/WIFE/DIL. If she stays at home after quitting her job for her family's sake, they say "SHE IS MOOCHING OFF HER HUSBAND, WHAT A WASTE OF HER EDUCATIONAL DEGREE". Either way, we should stop "GLORIFYING" overworking women and NOT make them the norm we measure other women with.

I am so infuriated at this ad. It insinuates that the lives of housewives are easy, that they can easily manage their kids without altering their lifestyles at all, which is absolutely not true. A housewife has to put in just as much effort in maintaining the house and taking care of everybody as any other woman with any other job. It further accentuates that women should have kids just because they can have kids. These are the type of things that pressurise women into getting pregnant even when they feel like they cannot manage them. The model's concerns were legit and the pregnancy would have gotten into the way of her career, but it was just brushed off. Also, the ad never made a point to address the fact that the sweeper's job was undermined. She is happy doing what she does and is properly taking care of her children, that enough makes her very successful in life. Also, just because women can do both doesn't mean that they have to. It's their choice. Pregnancy and kids seriously affect a woman's life and it should not be played off as something minor that can be easily handled.

I was going through the same phase when I conceived my first. I was preparing for the services and didn't know how to manage both. I was completely overwhelmed at the circumstance. I took advice from my own mother and mother in law, they said I can abort if I wish to they would have absolutely no problem and would support my decision as they thought it was almost impossible to be a new mother and pursue such an ambitious position. Later I decided not to because I didn't have the guts to kill another human that was growing inside me. My husband said one thing that changed my pov i.e. " Don't measure your own potentials on the opinions of others. Others might not balance both but you might can. " That hit me. And to be very honest I am happiest to have my little baby. I have taken the best decision of my life and received god's gift. I am so so so grateful. I still am continuing my studies. Being a mother really is worth more than anything. 💗 Hope it helps anyone who is going through the same phase as mine. Don't worry sister.

@@avinashojha35 There is no 'superior' gender. If a woman does not want to have children, it's her choice and one shouldn't judge her for it, in the same way, one shouldn't judge a woman who is a stay-at home mother. I don't know what this ad wanted to convey, since the childfree woman here is clearly being shown as the villain, also through the actor who plays the 'model' here, they have tried to convey that a woman MUST have kids because she can handle both her career and the kids. This ad is a classic example of toxic positivity, spreading a message that women CAN and SHOULD handle both personal and professional responsibilities. It glorifies the growing pressure on working women. In fact, there's no shame in taking a break from your career to take care of your kids, and that won't make you less of a woman. Why we always make the woman sacrifice everytime? Why will she have to carry both? Why can't her husband take care of the child too.. So that they both can easily balance the work life and parent hood... And taking a child is a choice... Not mandatory... Please don't make women supermoms... People who can't bear child... Who could never be moms... Who are unmarried... They are also humans living in this world... They also need respect

Exactly. I understand and respect women who can do both, since I myself am an woman. But my point is if somebody made a choice of not being a mother, what's wrong with it ? A man is hardly judged , even praised sometimes if he dosen't want to embrace parenthood and focus on something in particular. But a woman has to go through hurdles/judgment of the society, etc if she dosen't wants to be a mother.

The content is good but why do we always put up with the idea that woman alone has to manage both ? Why isn't the role of a father in handling both duties emphasized? I think career and family roles are to be done as a team. I know women eventually excel at both tasks but it does put them in a lot of pressure, compromise and sacrifices.

I was a stay at home mom and then went into internal medicine residency training and now working as a night doctor (works with my kid’s schedule). Both the jobs are incredibly hard. You think housewives have it easy, but it’s very very hard. The social isolation with constant baby work and sleepless nights and people dismissing your effort is brutal. At the end of the day, both jobs are hard. But regardless of what a woman chooses to do, it should be respected, not looked down and dismissed. Women as a gender are looked down as a weaker sex. What we need is women uplifting each other, not pulling us down.

I appreciate a working mother, I appreciate women who show us an example that we can continue our careers along with motherhood. At the same time, this is a reminder for stay at home moms, If being a good mother is the only thing you manage to do, If you left your job for your child, If you took a break from your career, YOU ARE DOING ENOUGH. You deserve to be appreciated. Please don’t let these ads build more self doubt for you. Life is not a competition.

Why she has to leave her dreams and drop her career why not sharing equal responsibilities
@user-ic4od1ym3l2 жыл бұрын
@@akankshabali9577 what is equal responsibility? Who will leave the job then? The husband? Or will the child be in daycare? Or leave them with grandparents all day? If you are okay with your husband dropping his job and staying at home then do it. But having a child is not a game to prove feminism. It is a responsibility. Nobody can deny that the baby needs the mother the most. So practical decision is for mother to take a break. As a mother myself, physically and mentally we mothers do need that break and mostly it is financial conditions that makes us crave ourselves to work leaving our baby back. It is best The father to be capable enough to support the entire family financially and mentally.

@@user-ic4od1ym3l I have many relatives which does not drop their career and there are many options of child care and what is problem in that day care and first what problem if grandparent take care a child for some hours.and I think mother should not force to drop her career in father can do the night shift and. Take care the child in day time.I think forcing a mother to drop her career is wrong and. 6. Months break is okay for child care.
@akankshabali95772 жыл бұрын
@@user-ic4od1ym3l it is not practical session that u force some one to. Sacrifice their dreams and there are many depression cases among housewives so be a supportive family and leaving child with grand parents is not wrong or in day care is also not wrong . And badme mein bhut mushkil hote h job milna . So practical solution is that a father taking night shift and take care of child in day or leave a child with grand parents for some hours

Well i feel a man can also be a good father + bread earner, But the fact is if a man works and would not able to give his time to his child, then people say that he is really a hard workimg man, if same situation happens with a women, then people critizes and see them as a selfish women. Yaar itna jyaada expectation rakhna is not fair
