Abbie has touched so many lives wether your impacted by autism or not!! This sweet girl he made me personally laugh, cry, giggle. I know she has bad days but with the support of this beautiful family, Abbie is gonna go beyond the moon and back. I just love her so much. Hugs to my friend Abbie and to you guys for helping her live her life to the fullest.

My son has self injury behaviors. He bites his hands. I look forward to your vlogs everyday. My son has profound Autism. And it's a daily struggle! Just going to the store or even just getting in the car is exhausting. Your family gives me hope. Today has been an especially hard day for my son. My son also has PICA. He eats everything, plastic bags , anything on the ground etc.... I'm amazed at how well Abby communicates. That is my dream for my son to be able to communicate. He is very limited in his communication skills and he is 23 years old. The stares ,the comments we recievers when we go out in public is difficult for me sometimes. I am thankful your family is exposing others to Autism and the struggles and what it's really like. My son is 23 and has never spoken a word. He will never live on his own,go to college and requires full time care. I had to mourn and learn to accept these things. Thank you again for inspiring me to be better and for giving me hope.

Throughout my childhood and adult years iv had problems with biting my arm and hitting my self on impulse, sensory overload and other things. It took me until I was 18 to finally be able to go to a therapist and find out I'm on the autism spectrum because my mom insisted I'd grow out of it. Finding this channel has helped me learn and understand more about the broad spectrum and feel more comfortable with my diagnosis. Thank you :)

I have high functioning autism, and its so interesting to see the similarities and differences within the spectrum, and how wonderful you are with your child is extremely heart warming. I love watching her learn and grow, and even though I'm 100% self sufficient, some tips and tricks you seem to find with Abby help me think about things i could do to help myself. thank you so much for not only your videos helping others, but destigmatizing it all as well.

I love that you don't try to crowd her when she has her moments. When I used to get angry I couldn't come up with words and everyone would try to get in my space and it would only make me angrier. If they gave me a couple hours alone I could come down from it and talk to them later, but in the middle of it all it's too hard. Great job with her melt downs. My parents eventually caught on that's what I needed too, but it took a while.
@hgftrew19925 жыл бұрын
Finally, I've found someone who is the same way! When I'm angry, I can't come up with the words to explain it, but give me an hour or two alone with my thoughts and I'm much more coherent with my words! I have Nonverbal Learning Disorder, so I think that has something to do with it. I'm very verbal, it's just the name of my disability!

Do you think that low blood sugar can trigger a meltdown? She seemed better after having a snack. I’m asking because I notice a slight difference in my son after he’s eaten as well.
@fatheringautism6 жыл бұрын
I’d say most definitely.
@Houndoomgirl775 жыл бұрын
I've never measured my blood sugar (no reason to do that, going for a checkup is different but day-to-day life doesn't leave me reason to) and I'd say that I can tell a noticeable difference in my emotions and my tolerance based on if I've had sugar. I don't like anything too sweet (mountain dew and cake are GROSS to me for that reason) but if I don't eat at least one sweet of some sort a day then I get agitated far easier and have meltdowns!! I usually eat some cookies or some milk chocolate and that small snack can keep me pretty good for the day.
@marycole19435 жыл бұрын
I was wondering myself if her blood sugar could drop. My son used to turn into a totally different child when he was hungry. So I just started bringing a granola bar or something quick for him to munch on when I picked him up from school. Otherwise he’d want fast food and get really mad if I told him no. After being in school the rest of the day after lunch... she may just be hungry. I know she probably doesn’t eat in the van, I understand that too. Just my thoughts 💭 🥴
