K and Cdrama writers love a desperate and overly emotional FL they put next to a stoic and extra “cool” ML that doesn’t act as pathetic as FL in the name of love. She stalks him, overreacts around him, chases him, gets drunk and goes to him to vent abt how much she loves him or she calls or text to do so, she makes a scene while drunk in the name of her love for him, she gets mad at him for not returning her feeling the way she hopes or she is more than satisfied for some time getting crumbs from him, she runs back to him when he does the bare minimum after he mistreats or is mean to her, she sacrifices her job, her relations with friends and family, her happiness for a good portion of her life just for him, she can’t function and make herself do anything when he rejects her or when she sees him with another woman, she acts pitiful and indulges in self-pity and misery because of that love like she would die if it’s not him, etc. Etc. We usually get a few of those things with each FL. Even a so called strong character at the beginning of a drama suddenly becomes weak and needs to be helped and saved several times by ML r second lead as she starts falling for ML. Smh. I wish we had more female characters like Kang SaRa from Beauty inside or Dan SaRan from New Tales of Gisaeng. I’ll even happily take a Wei Yingluo from Story of Yanxi Palace.

IRL girls/women do not go after guys who no longer love them or show interest towards them. And sometimes, we are too busy with life and work or just want to be alone or have fun. Dramas and movies need to show a more realistic viewpoint of girls/women. It’s like these shows live in an unrealistic male viewpoint.

I love romantic C dramas and K dramas. I love swoon worthy moments when the ML and FL are still unsure of their feelings. But I really cringe when the FL gets drunk to the point that they’re stumbling around. I get that some of these stories are almost unreal but please, the scenes where the FL gets drunk and possibly can get into lots of troubles , that’s already old. I don’t think most of the viewers like seeing that. It’s not worth putting a drunk FL in the story just so the ML can “save” her. Too many real- life tragedies happen to women when they lose control of their senses like that for me to enjoy that in my watchlist.

Feelings are something we can't always control. There are times we feel brave and empowered and there are times we feel unhappy and desperate. I have felt the same thing to... trying to bring down my feelings for someone cause they don't feel the same way but because of their too much niceness or approaches, they make it difficult to let go. Its so tiring and sometimes can lead to almost insanity... well I don't know about others, but that's how it is for me.
