I remember this story of one of my neighbour's: I was 21 when this happened, there was this very nice lady in my neighbourhood. I learnt from her that she was divorced and her daughter's custody case won by her husband. I was genuinely sad for her but after 3 months she shifted in my neighbourhood, I saw one girl entering her house and the lady welcoming her saying " i missed you so much " and the girl also said something like " me too or it's ok Now". I saw them from my garden and just then I was called by my boyfriend I went inside and thought to visit them after completing my work. It was evening when I decided to visit them and told her how I saw the girl enter her house. The lady introduced her as her DAUGHTER. I was so happy for her that She was now not alone. But the thing was it was not right as after 2 weeks I started hearing crying sounds from their house..I thought to not interfere in their family matter and thought that she is her mother and she might've scolded her but one day when I waving my boyfriend bye, i saw her daughter crying and saying you don't deserve me from the door while her mom sat at the driver's seat and went away. Her daughter saw me and quickly looked away and wiped her tears. She came to me and said hello and we chatted a little but I didn't show that I'd seen her crying. I definitely knew something was not right and so I decided to visit them by the excuse of delivering them some cookies I made. But I got a real shock I when I learned that the lady was not back yet and the girl ( let's call her yenie ) yenie was literally starving but didn't tell me or any neighbor to cook her food or something. I thought she was shy but she told me that she was scared that her mother would scold her for it and also asked me to keep it a secret. I made her some food and chatted with her. While we were talking, the lady came in and greeted me, i said to her " oh you came, i was here to deliver these cookies to you and thought to chat with her for a while As I was also bored " she said something in response and I left but I could hear the girl's cry from the house to mine! I was so worried but couldn't do anything. I told my husband about it but the fact was that we both were scared of some court thingy and all cause after all we were 21 and 23..two or three days later I was driving to a nearby store when I was driving, i saw a girl crying for a car to comeback and to my surprise, it was yenie! I got her in my car and gave her a back up towel to dry her self. I asked her what happened and she told me everything in a rush! I was so shocked to hear that the lady had been abusive to yenie by slapping and beating her for small things. I was definitely sure I had to put an end to it. I went to her house and opened the door with the key she gave me. We took her her belongings and clothes and went to my house. I told my boyfriend about the matter and he too hugged that little girl..we tried consoling her and telling her we'll get her out, she stopped crying and sobbing after three hours or something. We also heard a knock on the door and yenie was very scared it could be the lady ( wouldn't call her mom now ) she went and hid behind my boyfriend. I opened the door and it was the lady! She started shouting at me and saying " WHERE IS MY FREAKING DAUGHTER?! IK YOU'VE KEPT HER SOMEWHERE IN THIS FUCKING HOUSE " I was so shocked to hear her curse as she was so sweet all the time. I yanked her hands away and told her we didn't have her daughter but she already saw her and called the police. We told the police all about the doings of yenie's not so mom now. The police needed a proof and so we told them that they would have to send the lady somewhere else so that yenie can open up. The police sent her to her house and they asked her to tell them everything. She told them everything bcz I was by her side. The police believed yenie and took the lady away. We kept yenie for some days until she told us that her father had left for another women so she had nowhere to go. We contacted the police to reach out to her relatives but surprisingly she didn't have any! But also that we kept her with us by adopting her 🫀💞 she was 10 at the time and now she's 14 and we are totally into putting are care for her. Yes our family was a little bit reluctant for that cause they thought we would give up on having kids of our own but we told them that every child deserves a parent. After alot of time to get our family to agree we adopted yenie and named her " lilac " it was actually given by my husband (now) i'm so happy that we were able to meet her and make her our own❤ Edit: some of ya'll think I'm cheating on my man, so just to clear. He was my boyfriend before but now he's my husband😃👍 now don't reply ya'll cuz it's been 6 months already😮‍💨
