This is just my opinion but I think the reason they go to their friends for advice is because they trust them or think they’d be able to help in a way, it can be to gain confidence or to find a way to confess to their crush. Personally I think they’re also a victim, imagine the friend that helped you actually liked you and then you’re suddenly being hated for something you didn’t even know. I just think that’d actually be really sad. I’m pretty slow to catch on so if I were that person, I don’t think I’d be able to handle it even if some people understood I didn’t mean to harm my friend. It’s surely hard for the friend but sometimes it’s necessary to tell their crush that, to me it seems like they’re both at fault but it’s a common problem.
