My only problem with this story is the village didn't accept her without getting something. As long as she was unisex she was a outcast. The elders even lied by not telling her that the task could harm her. And acceptance would have been understanding that the Gods made her special just the way she were. So many of my people have lgbt children and don't realize children are a gift not your property. You job is to create a environment where that child will grow and receive healthy tools for living life, In this story the outcome is confusing because the whole village turn their backs on her because she was different but only accepted her after she became normal ....When she was already normal to begin with and should have been loved just for who she were....Not what she could do for them..They used her the same way straight folk use LGBT members now..But when you are of no more use then you are discarded like trash...
