Here’s the thing Maria, when you hit another human , and then drive away, it’s too late to act concerned about that persons condition after the cops catch you; you should have been worried right when you hit the person. And why is she acting like picking up her kids late is such a terrible thing, it’s inconvenient and annoying, but harmless; hitting a person with your car however…that’s something you need to worry about.

I've been hit by a car one time. The driver was so sorry, and let me sit in her car while we waited for first responders. That's how you react to hitting someone. Not drive away and pretend to be worried for them after. She was probably only asking about their well-being, cause she knew that would effect the charges.
@Darkshizumaru
@Darkshizumaru Жыл бұрын
Exactly, you just put on the hazards and wait for help with them doing whatever is asked of you by the operator. Often they tell you not to move the person so they can avoid further harm so it's really not always a case where you can just wait in a vehicle. Instantly you act to help because clearly it was an accident that occurred ... unless you are some kind of monster who hits someone intentionally. This chick was sooo sauced!
@ShesAaRebel
@ShesAaRebel Жыл бұрын
@@Darkshizumaru In my case she wasn't going that fast, so I wasn't injured to the point where it was dangerous to move me. It was a classic case of the driver looking to the left while turning right, and I started crossing the street from the direction she wasn't looking in. She also didn't come to a complete stop, but instead just slowed down around the curve, and that's when she hit me. The bumper hit my leg, and I fell. She noticed right away and stopped, so I wasn't run over or anything. Was sore and had a limp for about a day, then was fine. Paramedics cleared me on scene, and I got a ride to school in a police car. 😏 The officer game me his card and said if my injuries act up later, or I have any questions, I could call. Valuable lessons on both ends. She knows now to always come to a full stop on reds, and look for pedestrians as well as cars. And I now know that just because I have the right of way, doesn't mean cars are going to respect that. I now always make eye contact with a driver before crossing. I was 15 when this happened. I don't think the eye contact thing, or making sure to look at the DRIVER and what they are doing was something I was ever taught. We were taught to obey the lights, and that cars also had to obey the lights, and that they are the safest way to cross the street.

reminds me of something that happened recently to my family. my little brother was driving home from work, going the speedlimit in the SLOW LANE while being tailgated by a large white truck. the truck got frustrated, drove around him, cut him off and brake checked him so hard his battery flew 20 feet away from the car. he was left unconscious and drifting into the fast lane in a car that couldnt even turn on anymore. he almost died but luckily drifted into the shoulder after a passing car struck him again. he couldve died. these kind of people who hit others and dont care are sociopathic. they hit him intentionally, drove around him just to hit him head on. the crash was so bad that later they found his license plate stuck on the back of their truck bed. they tried to claim through their insurance that my brother caused the accident, but because it went against published police reports, they’re being sued by our insurance company for leaving the scene of a crime, wreck-less driving, and attempted vehicular manslaughter

@@TheGr8erPurpose Are you telling this person that they should forgive the person who mentally and physically impaired their father. Just because a 3000 years old book says so? A book that basically said that your all loving and forgiving God held a grudge against a whole species because two people ate fruit off of a tree that often is depicted to be smack down in the middle of the garden of Eden. Then, sent his only son to die in a horrible way just so he could find it in himself to forgive said species that he apparently hated enough to damn as an entirety because two of said species ancestors didn't pass a test that was bogus anyways because God knows everything that going to happen, is happening, and did happen. You know all knowing and all seeing. God is also said to be All Powerful so don't you dare say that he had no choice because no one makes God do anything, its quite literally impossible. So next time, maybe you can find it within yourself to not try to guilt someone into forgiving someone who mentally killed their father because some guy who sits on his ass all day waiting for the end times (aka the death of a species that he apparently loves so much) said so.

I laughed at the end when she said how can you charge me with intoxication if the test results aren't back yet? Honey, that's what the field sobriety test was for. The breathalyzer only comes out if you fail. If you don't take it they can still charge you for failing the first test. That's what always trips the alcoholics up, they think they're functional and have no doubt they can breeze through the field test. Also, they're nose blind to the alcohol fumes coming out of their pores.

In the UK, they have a road side breathalyser, and if you test positive you have to go to the station and get another on a more accurate machine. Oooor you can refuse, and get arrested for refusing to supply a sample. So it's even funnier when you see people on cop camera shows get arrested for intoxication and they argue back that they're not drunk. Like bitch we can see the results right here right now 😂

@Sahir Damani different places maybe have different protocol, but in my experience they do field test, breathalyzer, or blood test. They will do a blood test if you refuse any of the other tests. And you'll get charged with implied consent. Not everywhere has that law, but a lot of states do. Basically when you get your license, you consent to having chemical testing done to measure intoxication. So if you refuse then you're violating that consent law.

National standards in the US call for both a field sobriety test and breathalyzer and/or blood work. For instance, a person can be too intoxicated to drive but have a BAC under 0.08. Vice versa can also be true. A seasoned drinker might have a BAC over 0.08 and still be able to drive and pass a field sobriety test. In my state, if you refuse a breathalyzer, you lose your license automatically for a year.

The part where she's saying she "hit someone and hurt them" she's talking to her kids. She's literally telling her kids she hit a person with her car. It's really gross when you think about it. She's making this even more traumatic and scary for them. I also love when bose tries to do the sobriety tests but doesn't understand what they are looking for 😅 like the eyes thing, they are looking to see if your eye movements are jerky. I love Bose so much lol.

1000% I've seen this before. Parents trauma dumping on their kids to soak up their concern and emotions to comfort themselves. Disgusting. I remember being so upset because my son heard me talking to his dad about how we have to be careful with xmas spending because we didn't have "any money". My son was upset and asked if we were going to have to move again because we had no money. That was a failure on me. Out kids do NOT need to be in a state of fear from adult concerns. Let them be kids.

About three years ago, I hit a dog. He was a neighborhood staple who would chase cars but was otherwise a really good boy. I freaked out and drove him to the Pet ER crying. He lived, was bruised and sore with a busted leg, but he lived. I'm still messed up about that, I went to therapy because driving became so stressful because I was convinced I'd hit something else. I have had nightmares about hitting that dog. I can not imagine the type of person who can hit a human and be like "whatever."

My uncle was on his motorcycle at a busy intersection in my town and he had the go ahead, so he was going through when this lady runs a red light and swerved to hit him *on purpose* He had two fractured ribs, a brain bleed and concrete rash. She tried to blame him for everything but there was like twenty people who got out of their cars to see if he was okay and to call an ambulance. Someone got her plates cause she was acting like she was going to run. He’s okay now but this video was like WHAM to me.

My sister survived. Walking on her own now… she was strong. My sister passed away a suspiciously a week ago… She was found in a park, alone, on the ground… Now homicide is investigating. Your mind can't solve death or save you from the pain of the loss or change any facts. Let the pain come. You will be ok. Do some self care. Smile at the sky. Laugh at some jokes. Hug some loved ones. Sharing grief lessens the pain. God loves you and your sister. Feel loved.

The first sobriety test is to not only see if they can follow a small object (like a fingertip or pen tip) without moving their head, but they're looking for any ocular abnormalities as well. An ocular abnormality could be something small like having a lazy eye or having one or both eyes twitch rapidly while trying to follow the object (Dystonia). Either one of which could be undiagnosed at the time. Hope that helps! Source - mother is a paramedic that has not only worked with police - but has helped issue sobriety tests.

Former DWI prosecutor here: the eye test is called the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus, or HGN, test. Nystagmus is an involuntary jerking of the eyes and there are several types of nystagmus. HGN is the involuntary jerking of the eyes when taken across a horizontal plane. HGN specifically is caused by the ingestion of certain impairing substances, including alcohol. There are 6 clues total the officer is looking for and the more clues you exhibit, the higher the concentration of an impairing substance is in your bloodstream. In my experience, the HGN test is the most reliable for detecting alcohol impairment because it's an automatic physiological reaction that you cannot control. The second test the officer did is the Romberg balance test. It's not included in the battery of three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (HGN, walk and turn, one leg stand) promulgated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, but it is still considered a reliable test because it tests both physical balance and mental acuity in that the subject is supposed to estimate 30 seconds. The walk and turn test and the one leg stand test are called divided attention tests because they require you to divide your attention between several tasks at once, much like driving. None of the sobriety tests are pass or fail, but rather they each have a certain number of clues for which officers are trained to look during the tests. Generally, the more clues you exhibit on each test, the more impaired you probably are. The decision to arrest someone for impaired driving is one that takes into consideration the totality of the circumstances. Everything from the way the person drives, whether they are slurring their words, the odor of alcoholic beverage, performance on SFSTs, and the preliminary breath test on the roadside (or willful refusal thereof) goes into that consideration. You would be genuinely shocked at how many people are driving impaired, whether on alcohol, illegal narcotics, or even prescription medications, every single day.

My back also tends to hurt a lot worse when I get sick and have muscle aches. I feel for anyone with a back injury. It's been about 25 years since I hurt my back and the pain has only gotten worse. I think I remember reading that the sobriety tests are designed to be hard even by sober people and don't actually tell if a person is drunk. They could just use the breathalyzer. Just having slight off balance or slight cognitive issues could make you fail. As well as the more idiotic tests that you'd have to practice to do (backward abc's) It's usually a humiliation tactic nowadays rather than a necessity

Never asked what her disability was, it's not my damn business, but I vividly remember her telling us about how many times she's been accused of being drunk, to the point where she can't keep a license or job. But disability won't accept her, because she 'looks drunk'..... It was really fucking sad. Edit- oh and after I got caught underage drinking (just walking, no driving) I got paranoid so every time I drank I sang my ABCs backwards. When I'm black out drunk I can sing my ABCs backwards, makes a good bar trick

The problem with breathalyzers is that they only detect alcohol substance and officers are looking to signs of impairment by alcohol and drugs. @@TheMortalkombat2007 Again, those tests do not tell whether someone is impaired as they could just have issues with balance or other cognitive issues. Not to mention the psychiatric damage done, my abuelita's current battle is PTSD. She hasn't walked to work (because she was walking home from work), she's afraid to even get in a car because a woman driving one almost killed her. They said she wouldn't walk again and she defied those odds, she's walking, she's doing everything she did before the accident and then some. My mother didn't pursue charges against the woman that almost killed her mother. I'm trying to find a way and see if I can press charges myself. But he freaked out and ran, they found him and he was judged but he was so ashamed of himself that he tried to hide it from his family until the people came to collect his fine at the house. Then, he was so filled with guilt that he attempted to kill himself. He did not succeed but it became and absolute taboo in the family. I learned about it after he passed. I felt very sad for him because he very much was a nice person and he felt so guilty about it. I think he just panicked when it happened and ran, like a flight or fight response. Years later, he saved a person's life in another incident, so I think he redeemed himself personally.

The finger thingy for the sobriety test basically tests what kind of eye movement you’re capable of/ there’s two types. Saccades. When you’re looking around your eyes do little flickers. Mainly used for orienting gaze towards an object of interest, so like just looking around. Smooth pursuit movements, like watching something move in your peripheral. MUCH harder to control when inhibited. You’ll notice you can’t really do it well even when sober if you’re not focusing on an object moving, try to do a slow and even look from the left of your room to the right. :)

Girl I feel you. Just quit my job of three years after my boss called me a disappointment for not reminding her to get more diet coke. Screw your old job and screw my old job.

It was funny to watch her scramble for excuses everytime she messed up 🤣. “ this is an incline” “you didn’t tell me that” all because she knew she was failing the sobriety tests and wanted an excuse to get out of it

The way she answers every. Single. Question. With defensiveness. Like "I had to pick up my kids, I went and did this and this, and then.." Officer, just showing he's following along; "and then you got your kids" "YES!! >:CCC" like cmon dude lol "Have you ever done a feild sobriety test?" "NO?!??! >:OO" Like, that level of defensiveness just screams guilty stop 😭 but also don't stop cause it's hilarious LOL

There’s this mom on TikTok who posted about a woman hitting her child while he was on his bike and kept driving and the cops refused to charge her. There was a video but it was so scary. This reminded me of that. It happens so often.

This pisses me off because I've been hit on a bike by a car, I was a kid but man it was terrifying. The person did a hit and run too. I hope the person she hit is ok

Her: "We're in the middle of the road!" Cop: "They're behind us so we don't get hit." What the cop wanted to say "Your dumb @ss isn't behind the wheel right now so we're safe!" I love your videos Boze!! Your reactions are amazing! Your sense of humour is incredible!!
