It's not surprising though is it coming from people who double think about every other subject people talk about online? Racism is bad, except if my target is white. Sexism is bad unless my target is a man. Murder is immoral unless my target is a fetus. My body my choice(murder), your body my choice(jabs). Fascists are bad but I want more government oversight of private companies. Borders are racist, except in Ukraine. Nazis are evil, except in Ukraine. I wear a mask that says "does not stop viruses" on the label while I tell you to wear a mask. I need to pass spending bills, now I need another stimulus check because of inflation. Everyone who looks different needs my inclusion, unless they think different, then censor them. You're guilty until proven innocent. Words are violence. People can identify as any number of genders including non-binary, If you disagree you can only be identified as a far right extremist.

Im a bit confused with this argument of guys saying the twerking scene was unprofessional as a lawyer. While in the gran scheme that is true but in the comics she hulk is a party girl and openly sexual at times. When she hulk was first starting ppl (men,nothing wrong with that and she hulk fans) wanted her sexy with her confident party girl attitude. So I’m a bit confused when when she does something sexy it’s bashed for being sexy and unprofessional. Now here’s my fake on the Meghan thee stallion scene I thought It was cringe and so was the twerking it was very out of place and I personally didn’t like it not because it was proacative but it was cringe like these writers just picked this scene to make it trendy for younger audience.
@weezyslob
@weezyslob 2 жыл бұрын
@@buttertoast8613 You can’t be serious. She’s at WORK. As a lawyer, in her glass doors office where everyone can see her. Can you twerk at work? That seems professional to you? It’s an idiotic scene, you can’t complain about wanting to be taken seriously as a lawyer and not just be a She Hulk sideshow and then TWERK in your office.
@buttertoast8613
@buttertoast8613 2 жыл бұрын
@@weezyslob I thought I acknowledge that, I said grab scheme wise you shouldn’t do that at work as a lawyer but I heard in the comics she was quite sexy. But do u agree there is a disconnect in the show Jen prides herself on being professional and in her speech to hulk she was saying she always has to be professional so ppl don’t look down upon her as a women. So it didn’t make sense. I was kinda saying how ppl are calling her a whore and degenerate cuz she did sec appeal quite cringy really. But now everyone is acting as if they are nuns and “think about the children” I wish they followed her comics more based on story telling and characterization of she hulk I find her super stylish and sexy
@weezyslob
@weezyslob 2 жыл бұрын
@@buttertoast8613 I have zero issue with her being sexual, having sex on the show, etc, zero. I’ve never called the character a whore. I specifically only had an issue with the twerking scene as it was ridiculous and invalidates her wanting to be taken seriously at work. You can’t be taken seriously at work while you’re shaking your ass in your office, nobody in real life would ever do that.

In the comics, She-Hulk also only gets her power because Bruce Banner saves Jen’s life through blood transfusion, thus giving her the powers and abilities of the Hulk. Being cousins, that would actually mean she got her powers through nepotism. He was right about that.

At university I was introduced to the idea of "The Male Gaze" in a lecture about film theory. And I started cracking up. Because I heard... male gays. And the more he kept talking about the "male gaze" and the "empowering gaze" and the "possessive gaze" and so on, I just... wept with restrained laughter. And then I looked across the room, and another guy was shaking with silent laughter too, and the moment we made eye contact, we lost it, and the lecturer scowled at us, but could do nothing. Because this was ten years ago, and although the wokeness was literally everywhere, the enforcement of it had yet to kick in, at least in the UK. What unnerves me, ten years on, is that I realise we were the only two people laughing. We were the only two sane people in that room who realised how hilarious it sounded, and treated it with the humour and contempt it deserved.

She Hulk is an example of get woke, go broke. Same thing for Rings Of Power and my issue with that scene is that it's hypocritical. In episode one, she goes on that rant towards Bruce about how much she's better at controlling her anger because she gets catcalled and mansplained, and then two episodes later she's twerking in a glass cubicle with MTS in front of her coworkers, her boss and the audience. Point being, you can't virtue signal about sexual objectification AND twerk, because it makes the former come off as insincere and the person a two-faced liar.

Yeah, "twerking" has been around for a while but most white people probably were not aware of it or knew how to do it. And then comes Miley Cyrus, some unattractive white girl who introduces it to a lot of white people, given that is her main audience. So most of us made fun of her for what is obviously a classless and ghetto-esque "dance" move that required a big derriere to properly perform, which she obviously lacks. Cue the black community as well, who were outraged that another white person was (yet again, according to them) appropriating their culture. Then you had all the rapper girls coming out shortly afterwards to show the world how to really twerk, since the white girl basically ruined it with her pathetic attempt, this leading to a culture where younger girls were seeing their idols (god help us) dancing and they wanting to imitate it. Times surely change a lot within ten years.

You know, I suddenly became curious about why Megan's nickname was Stallion, seeing as that's a male uncastrated horse. Looking it up, it seems like someone called her that once, and she asked her uncle, who then told her it meant she was "tall and fine," and that it's a compliment in the South. Being from the South, I have never heard that as a compliment towards women (usually it's directed toward virile, sexy men), and it really seems like some weirdo called her Stallion, and her uncle made something up to make her happy. I could be wrong, but that's what it really seems like after a tiny bit of research.

@@buttertoast8613 You seem to keep harping on this one topic, without taking into account that aside from that ONE scene the character in the show has nothing in common with the comic book character besides stature and color. The issue people are taking isn't with She-Hulk doing something perceived as sexual, the issue is that this NOT-Shulkie character who has pretty much nothing else in common with the original, immediately contradicts her own so-called Message by acting like the original in a brief, confusing, and frankly pretty random scene. If the character had been portrayed up to this point as...well, actual She-Hulk, most people probably would have found this scene funny instead. I've said it in the comment sections of other videos, and I'll say it here again but just a lot shorter: I strongly dislike the post credits scene of episode three because it's hypocritical. True I don’t mind having a sexy/party girl scene cuz she was like that in the comics but in the show she is scene as very serious and the only party girl thing we see her do is go to the bar with her co workers. So it’s out of place. I’m not saying women can’t have fun. Like I was over sexualized growing up and was followed a lot when walking home but I’m still allowed to go shopping and get a nice sexyish dress and feel good about myself. They could have used this thing as a character arc tho, Jen who is very serious and quite prudish even to her own good but is scared to be sexy because it’s very new and is scared that she may look foolish. But over sometime she gets comfortable with her body and wears flattering clothes it can be from sexy to cute and depending on occasion. Like if she’s in the office it would tone down the sexy and turn up more stylish choices like Elle woods in legal blonde when she has court scene vs how’s she’s dressed at parties. She ends up taking more care into her looks becaus it makes her feel confident and that’s was always what she admires. Which can break off into finding female friends who she can look up too and feel comfortable with while exploring herself.

That's what I was thinking. That shirt was barely covering her tits while she is sitting there yammering around about female empowerment or whatever. She wanted to make sure we could see that she wasn't constrained by that most cruel tool of the patriarchy, the brassiere, invented by a woman to free women from the discomfort of corsets while maintaining the support that reduces the toll of gravity on breast tissue. Or maybe she just wanted to entice a young male (or lesbian) audience by using her erect nipples to draw attention to her pert breasts - I know Harvey Weinstein specifically instructed actresses in no uncertain terms that they were not to wear underwear to events promoting their films. What a thing it would be if she has been metooed by the women running this show.
