I also see Jake as being a good kid as well. Hes quiet but we don't know his past but he is treated very well too. A few months ago Crystal and Aaron took Jake and Lucas to the Arizona Cardinals game and remember he is only 13 so when we gets older I'm sure he will start doing more for the family. Ariana and Halie are 18 so hes got 5 years to mature like that and five years at his age is such a long time

I hope you don't mind if I make a suggestion when it comes to spending the day with Aurora or any of the other kids. I raised 6 and learned what worked best for my kids when I wanted to make them feel special and "in charge". I would love to share it with you. There is a way of making them feel in charge without stressing you out and hitting your wallet so hard. Call it "What Are We Doing?" Get a small pad and on the first page, start with breakfast. Give her 2 options. Give her two choices that you don't mind making (eggs or pancakes?) (cereal or toast). Turn to the first page and tell her to decide what you both are having for breakfast. Same thing for both of you, so choose items that you are willing to eat, also. Keep it simple. She will love that you are eating the same thing. Next it could be riding her scooter at the park or riding her bike around the neighborhood. Then, for lunch, just give her two choices again. This way you can control the budget and also enjoy what you are eating. Pick two places that you would both be okay with like Taco Bell or Chik-fil-A. After lunch, give her two choices that won't have you guys outside in the heat of the afternoon like bowling, skating, a trampoline park or a movie. Let her pick one of two things that you can afford to pay for and know that she will be happy doing. You can do things that don't cost much like making cookies or brownies together. You can buy the cookie dough that only needs to be put on the pan and put into the oven. Keep it as simple as you want. The main idea is that she will have fun doing it with you and she'll be proud of her choices. After an activity, tell her what a great choice that was....what a good "idea" she had. Then make a big deal by opening the pad to see what she is going to choose next. I promise that she will have a HUGE SMILE on her face. Put the choices in the note pad in the order you would want to do them in. (Timing is everything). Sometimes (at the right time of day when the pool will be warmest), make swimming one of her choices and get in the pool with her. She is always begging to go swimming. I am telling you all of this not to tell you what to do, but I learned early on that with kids, too many options is overwhelming. They end up frustrated with too many decisions to make that have too many things to choose from. Narrowing down the choices for them makes them still feel in control, but keeps them from feeling frustrated or bouncing from one idea to another undecided. It's a technique I first used when it came to trying to avoid a meltdown when they needed to get dressed to go somewhere and wanted to throw a tantrum because what they were wanting to wear wasn't appropriate for what we were doing. I just picked out two outfits and let them choose which one they wanted to wear. I was amazed at how well it worked and started applying the same principle to other things. I think you both are wonderful to be willing to spend time with your younger siblings. You are making memories that they will remember when they grow up. Kudos to both of you.

Hallie how about a special day with Logan? The last few videos I saw him in he seemed lost in the background. Or have you ever had special days with your siblings with can't say no for 24 hours without spending any money? Those are the times my nieces remember more than my spending money on them (they had many toys at home to play with) but a trip to the park or the zoo, making rice krispy treats or cookies with them or just playing a game with them are the things they remember more than the times I took them shopping like you did with Aurora. I love that Aurora wanted Jamie to come along with you and how much more she is talking and the fact that Brody was playing with her.
