I live near oil refineries. There are areas where oil rigs or drills are directly next to homes. They don’t do this in affluent neighborhoods but in poor black and brown neighborhoods. They passed a law to stop new ones from being built and the oil lobby tried to get a measure of the ballot to repeal it, saying it was raising gas prices to not be able to drill Next to homes. So there is a racial element to it.
