@@chiefkeef2184 well it also depends what kind of modeling. For some models like commercial modeling and Instagram modeling it doesn't really matter what height you are. @@purpurina5663, nah, she isn't attractive and regarding aesthetics, the model look and attractive are pretty much synonymous. So you're wrong.
@gummy58622 жыл бұрын
@@downo Not really tho. Marilyn Monroe would’ve never made it big in the modeling industry, but people definitely consider her very beautiful. High fashion models are all about capturing attention, whether that be through beauty or through odd features. In my opinion, all they look for is a strong bone structure. I’ve never seen a high fashion model without a strong bone structure. Besides that, eyes, lips, eyebrows, teeth, nose, forehead don’t need to be aesthetically pleasing. You just need to look interesting and not like the general population as a model. I mean dude, some high fashion models straight up look weird to the general public.
@downo2 жыл бұрын
@@gummy5862, not really tho. In fact, Marilyn Monroe was a model so that's complete nonsense. She really embodied beauty itself and didn't look odd at all. The only "odd" thing about highly attractive people is that they are indeed rare. As Qoves mentions in one of his analyses, attractiveness just like other traits such as height come and should be rated as in a bell curve. On a true scale, most people couldn't be a rated a 7 meaning top 5% (1 out of 20) just like they can't be rated a 3 meaning bottom 5% (1 out of 20). Yet research indicates that we are all inclined to overrate our attractiveness and on a scale lean towards a 7. The modelling industry is about finding those upper scale individuals, not those with deformities. Whether you like it or not, in general what I stated is "really" the case. I stand by my point, your comment isn't convincing at all in terms of science. I don't care much about your subjective opinion, because it is "really" subject to change.
@gummy58622 жыл бұрын
@@downo The main reason people “overrate” themselves as 7 is because people think 7 is average because of the American education system. They’re not necessarily overestimating their attractiveness and to say that is disingenuous and very likely wrong. 1950s modeling is not the same as modern high fashion modeling and completely disregarding that is also disingenuous and wrong. Her face is not similar at all to say Gisele Bundchen, Kate Moss, or Christy Turlington for example. High fashion models aren’t picked based on science love, they’re picked based on how striking they look. Striking doesn’t always mean attractive. Furthermore, back to Marilyn, I never said she could never model. She might get booked for a show or two (based on the face). However, she wouldn’t be a top model (even in her main career, her bread and butter was acting and being a public persona, not modeling). My main point is that you could still be generally attractive without meeting a lot of criteria for being a fashion model, which should be uncontroversial, and that fashion models aren’t necessarily the epitome of beauty.

Yes it is, I wrote a whole mini essay on this in response to another similar comment. Think about your comment for a second, you said non-black people are “ignorant” about black hair, meaning there’s a learning curve to it. With straighter hair types, there is no “learning” necessary. You can literally just brush it and go. That’s not the case with black hair.

why are ppl in the comments offended by our hair being "hard to deal with". It's a fact that we have to maintenance our hair more since it's naturally drier. The industry for sure needs to educate itself since it's literally their jobs to prepare the models so they need to be teaching that. "Hard to deal with" does not mean ugly either so if you're taking it that way idk why. There's so much versatility to our texture and what you can do with it.

Although you might be able to use scientific theories to say he’s attractive , is it really so crazy to think that hes not. - The extremely lean face and hollow protruding bones could read as sickly ( 💀) - The thin body with no muscles could come off as frail and not masculine(frail meaning hes not a good hunter 👀) - The thin and downturned lips are associated with volume loss and therefore age - The pale skin is natural in many but also a sign of illness Not trying to be rude, only trying to say beauty is subjective and just as there’s objectively reasonable theories for someone’s attractiveness there may be objectively reasonable theories for the contrary

@Ezequiel Solaire Runway models are chosen for both their measurements AND their beauty. Although height is more non negotiable in runway, you wont find anyone not adhering to model standards on the runway either. @@lindseymarie3532 Actually, not unique. As he ages and loses fat/volume in the skin around his eyes, it's likely that his monolid with become a double lid as the skin sinks back and that looser skin will fold in. These days many Koreans who have one monolid and one double lid will go and get surgery so that they're symmetrical. If you look at some cosmetic surgery clinic ads, you can find some photos showing how that kind of situation can be corrected. And in fact, so many people get the eyelid surgery fairly early (at 18, or even 16, during school holiday breaks) if they had monolids on both eyes, that the small % that will develop the 1 mono, 1 double which later ages to 2 doubles - they never get the chance for that to happen as they get surgery on both eyelids.
