I've had a hate love relationship with this women for the last 5 years, I hate how much I love her. She reminds me of my little sister a beautiful spoiled brat with a heart of gold and so much talent. Her first album was great but this song blows that whole album out of the water. It had a slow start for me but then the chorus hit and she had me again, she's not even one of my wreckers but I love this song, M/V and her vocals. Most ONCE's forget that she is a lead dancer so that dance break didn't surprise me but it sure felt like Momo, I wonder if she had a hand in this choreo. POP was a pure Kpop song this song is pure western pop and I think the diversity you see in the back up dancers is a not so subtle hint that it's made for us. I've heard a Beyonce feel but I got more of a Britney Spears feel. I also got a western movie feel the street dance scene reminds me of "West Side Story" and most of the other scene's ring a bell just haven't nailed them down yet, and for the first time the red outfit isn't her best outfit I love her in that black and white dress wearing those glasses. Nayeon is known for spoilers and I think she got one over on us with the opening of this video. If you watched her interactions during One Spark she kept saying that she was a good driver and that people would be surprised how good she was and then this video starts out with a car crash and the hood ornament is a rabbit, she did it again. OT9 forever (TIMELESS).

Another thing I like about Nayeon`s solo projects its the naming of her albums are simple yet creative. The 1st album was Im Nayeon which is her full name but also means I`m Nayeon and the 2nd ablum is Na(How to fall in love with).

Yeah, the diversity of the ethnicity and body types of the dancers really stood out, especially in the typical homogeny in kpop. I dunno if it's just for the first one or few performances, but I was even surprised to see some of the non-asian faces show up for the live stage today. (I have that uncertainty because they were only around for a portion of the song, unlike them being around for the whole video. So I can imagine them not sticking around for the whole promotion period.) Maybe you saw it in the interviews you read, but it really comes across that she studied the meaning of the English idioms and phrases in the songs for this album, seeking to internalize the messages and enhance her intonation for more natural delivery (rather than just phonetically learning what to sing). Personally, I don't think English lyrics in foreign songs are necessary, but it sure is appreciated when this extra care and attention is taken. Regarding the "spiciness" level, I think this vibe is a natural extension of Nayeon's "hot girl" personality she's presented over the past decade. And for me, it does feel "authentic" rather than the "doing too much" that we often see from other artists seeking an image makeover. Speaking of "image makeover" and "diversity," the consistently stunning lighting design and ever-shifting filmstock, aspect ratio, and filmic aesthetics really elevate a message of presenting a variety of "different sides." Also huge shout-outs to the song production crew. One of my pet peeves in k-pop's characteristic eclecticness is the often janky transition between sections, and in this song, the transitions were so clean and natural. Also loved the vocal arrangements and different textures and tones they took Nayeon through. Dunno if you're a fan of '70s funk/disco, but as a fan myself, the album b-side highlights are "Magic" and "HalliGalli." And if you ARE a fan of disco, I want to put WJSN (aka Cosmic Girls, also IVE's senior group) on your radar.
