I feel like an american has a different reaction to her work situation. She doesn‘t always work overtime. It can happen does not mean it always will. That sounds like trauma. The joke is it‘s always other people‘s fault.

I was expecting her to hammer him like Iron did to the Elf Boss. And then a few more times, just for fun. And then Jade cheers her on like, "Ga-bi-ru! Ga-bi-ru!"

A lot of the aspects of the setup don't really make a lot of sense, and I felt some similar frustrations. Like I know they need to stage it this way for the plot, but they haven't shown much of why she'd want to keep the job or likes it so much. They did make excuses for the overtime being higher than normal but so far seems like it's the norm despite that. And certainly feels like she'd make way more adventuring. She should at least get one big haul out of the way. I do like the characters though so I'm just ignoring the things that don't make a lot of sense. (Like I wanted to hear that bad guy at least got arrested and kicked out of the guild after literally trying to kill people in town and destroy it. I expect he'll just pop up again later.)

Watching your review a thought came to me. With the guild master testing her strength and how in the opening she's flying somewhere, maybe she becomes an elite for the guild? She goes where they are having problems with the local boss monsters to take them out. In exchange, she has less paperwork to do. Of course I'm just guess here. I have not read any of the source materials so it's just something that popped into my head.
