My neighborhood has been shooting off fireworks for well over a week now. I have one dog who is scared to pieces every night. It's getting real old, please if you are one who wants to set off fireworks for a week or two straight please think about the animals that can't handle the noise and the veterans who can have reactions to the ones that sound like ammunition that would be used in war situations.

I love fireworks...ON july 4th or New Year's eve. Doing extended light offs, even for a few dsys is just discourteous. If I know they are coming, I can make sure my pets are as safe and co,fortable as possible.

Same here, my daughter & son-in-law have been taking our 12 yr old furrbaby w bad anxiety, to the hills 45 min away, dang neighbors have all illegal ones here. Sickening. Vet told us she could have a stroke as hard as she shakes & pants, we tried everything, pills, holistic, wraps, etc.

They get more eggs 5han they will ever need. They just always give them way.. They are blessed enough that all the neighbors fed them all their leftovers n scraps. Remember they are all carnivores!!

It is so funny to watch you guys now compared to when you first bought your land, you look like you’ve been farming for years, Shannon just gets right in there down and dirty not like the beginning lol. You have both educated yourselves about your animals, insects, snakes, birds, gardening, buildings and carrying for your land, you have come a long way in a rather short period of time, WAY TO GO YOU TWO! I can’t wait to see what’s in your future, ♥️🙏🏻🇨🇦
@marlamork73503 ай бұрын
Jean, you are right Shanon & Kyle are entirely different people from when they were first out on the property.. Two young city kids with no idea what they were in for with everything grown up and a run down house and barn that couldn’t be salvaged but they just got started and look at them now Shady Acres with Kyle and Shanon Doss 💟✝️🙌👖🥾🧢🐐🐐🐐🦮🦮🐕🦺🚜🪜🧰🪛🔧🔨🪚🪓🌄❤️🤍💙 Kyle still has his ability to make his projects perfect only he can do that much faster. Shanon has proven to herself that she is capable of doing so many more things than she thought, she ripped pallets apart so she could build with them, she was right in there with all that digging and trenching and rock picking they were doing, the “Bird Herd” don’t scare her anymore and she is learning how to drive a tractor.. The best thing to happen at Shady Acres is Shanon and Kyle are growing their homestead with the garden and a new structure to include future chickens and growing the new keets so they can become another army against the ticks, a new structure for the growing Bruno who will get his job assignment as soon as his training is done.. Love you guys.. Excited for what happens next…

The good thing is, you can compost the dog poo!! Just not the same compost to be used in garden beds. However, dog poo composted (such as that plus the goat poo and straw or hay in the goat pen) can be used, with those other things you were raking up, in its own compost pile. Then, be used as mulch in areas that will not also be home to edible plants or other food source herbaceous trees, plants etc. So not even herbs. But want to make the ground pretty around thr trees you are keeping? Mulch 'em with the mulch that contains dog poo! Just not trees near the garden. Love that the keets are growing like mad! It will soon be warm enough for them outdoors, even if they are kept in their own sheltered pen. Mario lives on in his sons!! too cute!! Love your petting zoo, it's gotta be worth all the hard work you have both put into thi land. I hope soon you find a solution for further protecting or shading your camper. Some people actually build a roofed structure with a bit of a slope to the roof so snow doesn't make it come crashing down. I can pass on a couple of examples if you would like, just let me know. Have a great upcoming week! Thank you so much for sharing bits of your life with us. Know that your love for each other is really a wonderful example. May blessings continue!

God bless and prayers for all needs/requests. Please keep Texas in your prayers with the hurricane coming. If you're looking for something to do with the manure/hay, I would build a pile that chickens can dig through and turn it, with some water and piling it will turn into soil that you can use as fill dirt to level out some low spots.

From what I have researched for my novel that I am writing, if you take the manure and pile it, it should after a year will be compost for the ground and garden.
