These "mermaid tails" that are just skirts are a much better idea than the strange tails in the Broadway production, which never look quite like fins, nor like skirts, nor like anything to be honest. In this school production, it's much easier to just imagine the skirts are mermaid tails, and they look so pretty!

Okay so I’ve watched several videos of this song in particular because my community theatre is doing TLM right now and they’re making Flounder be in love with Ariel and super heartbroken in this song (all the sisters and Flounder are the quietest characters in the whole play so this song is just painful to watch) and it just didn’t seem right to me and in literally every other version I’ve seen so far they’re just playing it as Flounder realizing she’s in love and being like “oh wow” so idk what’s going on with my community theatre program

I feel like schools plays the little mermaid. Costume are so much better.. like long skirts looks so pretty. While Broadway makes these dinosaurs tail. The high school near me just had the little mermaid musical play. And it’s beautiful, and I like the idea for the fishes they just made a fish back wth straps like a backpack. Which works well. The the actors just have to were plain color pants or related to their fish. Instead having some weird outfit of clothes that just have the pattern. Also Broadway like their flounder is quite hides and doing the face paint seems terrible.. In conclusion I feel broadways and plays from schools can be so much smarter and better then actual broadways
