She's so technically perfect. People really still be underrating her as a vocalist. Blows my mind. That little Cry and riff at 3:50. Madddddd

Her vocal performance in the film had so much power for sure. I agree that it’s easy to downplay her for a lot of people. It’s almost like people do that just to have a different opinion than so many other people. But I’m definitely biased cause I absolutely love her voice and performances.

When you’re talking about how dainty Beyonce’s tone is in contrast with the other singer you were talking about. It’s because her voice type a coloratura mezzo soprano which is the lightest voice in the mezzo soprano range. Her voice is light enough to sing soprano but also low enough to sing with enough grit and strength.

Good lord. My first video of yours and you perfectly nailed the whole condition with her voice and why the public has somewhat slept on her. Your analysis was perfect. Even describing her voice type and why one would doubt if she could sing a song this big. You're intelligent , honest, observant and analytical. I had to subscribe 🤣 more Beyoncé please. Her cover of prince's Beautiful ones ( at Glastonbury) is a must watch.

The man said Beyonce voice is dainty.. yeah maybe back in 09-10. Her voice is crazy powerful and much more richer and fuller than even this recording.. I don’t think ppl will come back around to how massive her voice is until her next power ballad and that’s a shame that vocalists have to be typecast in that way to earn their just dues..

You can't say a bad word about Beyonce's singing and I say that as someone who isn't a fan. I've liked plenty of her songs since she first started but they didn't click for me on a deeper level. She performs emotion perfectly, she performs everything perfectly, too perfectly for me to connect with I think. I still love hearing her sing this though.

I believe it’s because she’s been criticized so much, that she tries to make sure if nothing else her technical abilities can’t be talked crazy about… she said that she didn’t want to get put in a box and be typecast as just another pop ballad girl.

Love this! This is one of my favorite performances of hers. A lot of people don't realize how versatile a singer Beyonce is. She's done some beautiful tributes/performances over the years that are completely different from her style as an artist. Some of my other favorites are her Barbara Streisand tribute "The Way We Were" and the performances she did at the Oscars in 2005 (specifically "Learn to be Lonely" and "Vois sur ton chemin"). You should check them out! 😊

I think I'm going to be the dissenting view. Beyonce is one of the G.O.A.T. no question, but she sounded like herself here. We should be marvelling at how she was able to transform her singing voice into sounding like Etta's; there should not be a Beyonce's version of this song to speak of. This performance was a part of a biopic about Leonard Chess and his artists, of which Etta James was one; hence Beyonce should look and sound like Etta James as much as possible. She didn't achieve that, so for me this is one of Beyonce's weaker performances in spite how lovely she sounds.
@TheCharlieSmithChannel3 жыл бұрын
A very respectful criticism. Nice to see ☺️🌟
@MzKissez1303 жыл бұрын
Beyoncé can’t give an Etta performance. She isn’t Etta. Her register isn’t Etta’s. Etta was Etta cuz of what Etta had in her voice. Etta had a naturally raspy and deep voice that her music what it was. Bey just isn’t that. Bey is very “classically trained” for lack of a better term. Etta ain’t that.
