The song was written about a girlfriend who killed herself. This is the first time in i don't know how long I've been able to listen to this song; let alone seek out reactions, while it's still summer; feels ,more like autumn here but, while it's not the reason I hate summer, it's thirty years since I lost a friend to suicide and a dear friend ~ who saved me, lost a brother to suicide this summer. kerk

That's just a fan based rumor actually. I'm pretty sure it's more about living with the sadness that she has lived with at that time, after experiencing all the losses that she had most notably, her bf who passed away from an overdose. Living through the summer months feeling that heavy sadness. She recalled hearing the power lines buzzing above her head on the sidewalk and just feeling sad but hopeful for what's to come ! ❤
