That song became women's national anthem. I was a teen back then but till this day I still know all the words by heart. Huge, huge hit and fun disco song to dance to.

Not only did people jump up to dance to this song, everyone sang along at the top of their lungs. I have a close friend who finally got out of an abusive situation and have it as her ringtone.
@SD-mw1hz2 жыл бұрын
An anthem to anyone in this situation, someone walks out on you and thinks they can come back like nothing ever happened. Once in our relationship early on we were having a disagreement and my husband said, "I don't know if this relationship is going to work out and I replied, "That may be true, if you feel that way you have 13 ways to leave this house, doors and windows, but just know when you leave do not come back, I was great before you came along and I will be great after you are gone, we will be great together as a team, I would cry but I would get over it, do not use threatening to leave tactics to get me to bow to you. I do not play games like that." We have been married over 20 years and have never had that conversation again. I was not trying to be mean but I needed him to understand I don't play the threatening game.

An anthem for broken hearted people primarily women since 78.this always got people on the dance floor dancing, singing every word wether you'd been broken hearted or not.i wish roller skating rinks had been a bigger thing and was still going in the UK! In 2020 Kylie minogue realised her album disco which went to No1 in the UK makeing her the only solo female artist to have a no1 album in 5 different decades.well she rerecorded some of songs as duets including Gloria Gaynor they have a song called can't stop writing songs about you.please check it out.

One of the most interesting things about this track is that there are no electronic instruments, only a real band/orchestra behind her. This was a breath of fresh air in a lot of ways. Not that we were sick of Donna Summers’ electronic presence, but it was an unusual sound at that point.

The True Beauty of 70's and 80's Rock (and even Disco) is, All lines were Blurred. Color wasn't a Factor, neither was Sexual Preference and Songs Celebrated Empowering Women. A Black man could be listening to Kenny Rogers and not get a Stink Eye from his friends and a White man can be Rocking to Rick James without being called a Poser. For All of today's "Advancements", We've become more judgmental of others and our Differences have never been so much a factor in our lives. YES, we DID have problems we worked out, but it's because we could take a joke and pointing out a persons Differences didn't mean as much. I Think you both would enjoy the 80's, and Mel could definitely enjoy rocking the Many Neon-Colored Styles from back then (And I think Shawn would look cool in a Dashiki Shirt with Bell Bottoms and High Platforms!).
