The Soldier promotions are so funny because the Soldier's bases are so bad, like they're 20/3/0/1/0/0, compared with the Knight's 17/5/2/0/9/0, Soldier is clearly The Knight only really loses in magical bulk, otherwise is better in every way compared with a Soldier. But if a Soldier promotes to the General class, Soldier gets the bases of the General Class added to it's stats, which considering the General's bases are 21/8/4/3/13/3... It's a massive jump! Specially in Defense where Soldier changes from a class with literally no defense to the class to the class with the highest defense in the game. In retrospective Barth had a solid defense considering it's class base is literal ZERO.

Because of a bug in the game's code soldiers are so much fun, as they skip past the needing a high defense growth part and straight up have a base defense of 19 as generals. They are basically guaranteed to be good tanks.

Oh and btw, unless if the hitrates were altered for this randomizer/patch, you can infact, miss a 100% hit rate in FE6 which is crazy, but can happen.

I did it for Wendy when she randomized into Sophia, so now for Sophia randomizing into Wendy: Wendy's bases: 19 HP 4 Strength 3 Skill 3 Speed 6 Luck 8 Def 1 Res Soldier Sophia's bases: 23 HP 3 Strength 0 Skill 1 Speed 2 Luck 2 Def 3 Res So Sophia gained 4 HP and 2 Res, while losing 1 Strength, 3 Skill, 2 Speed, 4 Luck, and 6 Defense. She gained 6 and lost 12, making for a net loss of 6 points of stats between Wendy and Sophia.
