Charlie Watts' drumming at it's absolute FINEST. Proof that he is the greatest drummer ever.
@seanmeisner31902 жыл бұрын
I absolutely agree with you. Charlie never wasted a note; along with Doug Clifford and Alan Jackson, he was a lean, economical rock and roll drummer. Every note he struck matters within the song. That's a mark of an excellent musician.

Thank you, and I agree. Charlie was a true gentleman and a world-class musician. I saw The Rolling Stones at Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick, Canada in 2005 or thereabout (I don't remember the exact year). It was a free event for me, or at least the ticket was; a friend came into a few extra tickets, and when she offered one to me, I thought: "Why not? It'll be a fun weekend road trip event with some friends, I'll be able to say that I saw The Stones Live In Concert. And anyway, The Tragically Hip are also on the bill, and they're an awesome band to see live. Yeah...I'll come along!" It was a beautiful day and a gorgeous, indigo-blue evening. Magnetic Hill is kind of a natural amphitheater; the stage is at the bottom of a long, horseshoe-shaped hill, and the sound is really good for an outdoor venue. I was a lot more impressed by The Stones' set than I'd expected. Mick didn't stop moving all night; he can truly work a stage. He graciously welcomed everyone from all the surrounding Canadian provinces, and I laughed when he (like everyone does) mispronounced "Newfoundland" to a mix of boos and laughter. Keith was his usual gentleman pirate self; at one point he looked across the crowd and the sky and said: "Nice night for it, innit?" But, I couldn't take my eyes off of Mr. Watts. I've seen a lot of great concerts by a lot of great artists, but that's the closest I've ever come to being fanstruck: "wow...it's him!"

Just awesome and especially magic with the growl with the great lines after 0:46 "I tried rewiring her I tried refiring her I think her engine is permanently stalled" has always been my favorite part of the song like a magic swing the vocals had there but I only now know what the hell he was singing there.

Top 5 Bands All time no specific order 5. Pink Floyd 4. Rolling Stones 3. The Who 2. The Beatles 1. Led Zeppelin
@williamnelson85785 жыл бұрын
The Eagles outsold all but the Beatles. Pink Floyd is not in the top ten, maybe $18 or something. So we are talking about non soul R+B disco groups since 1965? So no Stevie or Michael, because they are in the integrated top five. I'll suggest ahead of Pink Floyd, better rock bands Santana, Allman Bros, Grateful Dead and The Band.
