I saw this movie when it was first released. It was my introduction to Gary Oldman. I was (still am) a huge Sex Pistols fan, so this was a must see for me. I might as well have been shot in a rocket to the moon at Oldman's performance. I hate to use this trite movie saying, but Gary Oldman truly was Sid Vicious. To this day, I am still amazed. Of course, he went on to play roles far greater than this little movie, but none better ... not even his Oscar winning Winston Churchill. I consider him one of the Top 5, no make it Top 3 actors of the last 40 years ... nipping at the heels of Daniel Day Lewis.
