i used her for a few times and while i did enjoy her (i literally did not care much about kits and stuffs before, i just get a character and just use them), i just had better characters like hu tao and zhongli that i get to prioritize more. and with enemies being tougher as you progress, plus people telling she's not that good, i just got discouraged to continue using her, along with other characters that i have used a lot before. i may try using unused characters again like xinyan at some time just for the fun of it cause i do miss using them :)

She was one of my first pulls (maybe THE first pull) as well, so yeah I really enjoyed her for a while... until Diluc and Zhongli came along. I revisit her every now and then to give her hand me down artifacts and leveling her up just a little bit at a time. She'll probably never carry, but I still think she's fun. I agree with most that the American voice acting is extremely irritating though and does a huge disservice to her. Fortunately I have it set to Japanese; much more tolerable.

I’ve been using Xinyan a lot more lately after building Amber as a physical main-DPS. They synergize very well together. It’s actually a case where you probably would want to emphasize her shield given Amber’s paper thin defense (she is a serious glass cannon). You can run Rosaria and Fischl/Yae for superconduct, you get Xinyan’s physical bonuses, Pyro resonance, and some defense.

1 addition: as you mentioned briefly, her E generates a lot of energy. Give her a sacrificial claymore and she'll be one heck of a battery. Obviously this is only if you're using her as a support. If you're fitting her on the Eula team, the energy she brings is definitely appreciated. That being said, I can't recommend her as a support for most people. Strengthening her shield is really important, to most people that means they'll have to get a whole new set of Def-focused artifacts. It's a lot of investment and for the end result, you only get something about the same as a Rosaria, who is free to equip whatever artifact set you have available.

Been using Xinyan as a shielder with 4pc Milli and Sac Greatsword so far, as a Zhongli backup. Was mainly tagteaming her with Diona for shield uptime, and for physical buffing Eula. Got Kazu recently and his gather allows her to easily proc her level 3 pulsing shield, and I've been toying around with her pyro application. Might give the physical dps build a go.

With the unholy amount of DEF artifacts that naturally drop I don't see how that is difficult. I easily obtained a 5-piece noblesse oblige for her as a support (which would otherwise be trash fodder for other artifacts).

Finally, a good Xinyan guide that gives her a spotlight that she deserves. While she's not a fantastic character by any means, I love her playstyle and personality. Also you covered burst support, charged attack physical and pyro build, but there's 2 more interesting playstyles. You can play Xinyan through her normal attacks in a Bennett Yunjin and Zhongli/Albedo team, which is currently my favourite. It does great damage, doesn't drain your stamina, and doesn't lock you into a spin animation, which lets you chase down enemies, or dodge their attacks if you didn't pick Zhongli as a second Geo. Second playstyle is the one you advised not to use. Triple Def tenacity Xinyan is actually pretty good as a shielder in Itto triple geo (assuming you're not running Zhongli), because she can get extra def from Gorou, her shield will take less damage when you're on Itto (he has very high Def), and you will create geo crystals for Gorou c4 burst extension. This build also works in Eula Raiden Bennett team, where you can reach even higher nuke damage. But my favourite team for shielder Xinyan is in Hu Tao VV vape, where she can provide pyro for Kazuha or Sucrose to swirl, and than protect Hu Tao with her shield. Although I have to warn any person who might want to try triple Def Xinyan, her shield has similar issue to Echoes of the offering set, where you may not get the right shield level with high ping. At least below 100 ping it works reliably

Do you get a lot of use out of the tenacity in that comp? I find that you pretty much need to kiss a mob for periodic shield hits to really be effective, and it seems you could get more mileage out of using a husk set since her geo team mates don't get a lot of benefit from the ATK buff Milileth provides, and a husk set could probably provide a more consistent shield strength upgrade.

@@Luneward with Hu Tao, Itto, and Eula you are always up close to the enemy, so you are getting 20% ATK, and 30% shield strength. It's true that Husk gives more Def, but tenacity is a more offensive option, and considering the extra shield strength, it may turn out to be a better option defensively. I'll try comparing them later today, to see which shield is stronger, but it's a bit hard to test shield strength reliably. I usually test it against Azhdaha's earth stomp attacks that occur on phase change, do you have a better idea for testing?

@@Luneward I had some free time, and since Azhdaha isn't the best way to test shield strength, I just decided to find a formula and calculate it. After a bit of math, turns out that if you can keep up the tenacity buff, it will give you slightly stronger shield. Husk may have higher Def, but extra 30% shield strength from tenacity more than make up for it. Additionally, while 20% ATK is not much for characters like Itto and Hu Tao, it's still useful for them, and if you have Xingqui, he will also appreciate extra ATK

I love Xinyan and she use to to be one of my DPSs when she came out. I remember her I gave her the Snow Tombed with 2 piece ATK and 2 Piece Physical and if I remember right her ATKs gave off 5K-11K per hit and her burst was 85K by herself. But then I gained more characters and didn’t use her much and eventually turned her into a balance character with 2 piece Physical and 2 piece DEF while still holding the Snow Tombed. But I do plan to get her back up there as a Sub DPS when I’m done building my other characters cus I miss when she was giving out good DMG. Plus she’s one of my favorite characters in the game. I think it’s kinda funny how she basically was neglected during the first year of Genshin and now she’s like all over the place lol.

I pulled like 4 Xinyans on her first run back in the day and she's been a pretty solid burst/support for me. Mostly I've mixed her with Childe for vaporize or Chongyun for melts. Her bursts do 40k+ damage to every mob it hits, then the pulsating fire application means I'm dealing 15kish hits every second after that. She's always been pretty under appreciated.

I have Xinyan since she was added and let me tell you she went through a lot of different artifacts combination and for now is rocking 2x Nobless and 2x def % set. I wouldn't consider it the best, not at all, but for my team comp which is Kaeya, Diluc, Xinyan and Qiqi she works amazing. Burst always ready, shield stays for a long time, and with 2 pyro chara in the team her dmg isn't even that bad when I need to use her, so yeah. If you find yourself in situation when your current set is boring to you, you can try this. ^^ Also I really enjoyed this video and I'm glad Xin gets more recognition. 💙

I accidentally ended up with C6 Xinyan and a streamer - who is a Xinyan main - made me curious so I built her. She's a whole lot more fun than the community is willing to admit. To anyone who's umming and ahhing about whether or not to try her: please don't listen to naysayers. Make the decision for yourself. Skyward Pride is by far her best weapon. She's the only one, who can take full advantage of it (her increased atk at c6 affects the weapon's passive) and with refinements it shits on any other 5* weapon option.

That's my daughter!!! :D The first Xinyan classic team is exactly what I use for most content with Xinyan as a main Physical DPS, as Shinobu is my most built Electro unit, and her healing is great for the team while Bennett's burst is on cooldown. Plus seeing high Overload damage procs from Shinobu and Xinyan's AoE overlap is pretty nice. I've been enjoying Redhorn on her a LOT since I pulled it too. (I also have Itto, but Itto does pretty good damage with Whiteblind as is, so my daughter gets the best present.) Edit: Forgot to mention my girl is C6/R1, with 10/10/10 talents. Still working on getting enough Mora and Talent Books for her E and Burst.

If i may Add, having Gorou as a DEF buffer for Redhorn Stonetresher Xinyan is also a great option for her team comp. Gorou only needs 1 geo unit (being himself) to buff up the team's DEF so he is also a perfect unit to fill the flex spot; I have my benny at c6, that's why i took the liberty of making use of my Gorou when i have my Xinyan borrow my Itto's Redhorn Stonetresher haha xD

One thing I’ve been wondering is if it would be good to have her as a Shield for Eula since she shreds Def and provides a Physical DPS increase. It might be hard as you have to work around Superconduct, but this may be solvable with Raiden since she constantly applies electro.

Just use Raiden E, Eula E, Eula Q, Xinyan Q (E first if you really want to but the difference isn't too much). The DMG output is insane but you wouldn't be using Xinyan for her shield at all as she'd be built just for burst DMG so atk and crit DMG. The comp is strong enough to 1 rotation the Ruin Serpent in the last floor of chamber 12 this Abyss rotation. Last slot is a flex slot. You can do ToM Kuki, C6 Rosaria for 95% physical resistance shred, Bennett for buff and pyro resonance, Yae, or Fish for extra DMG.

@@chongyun07 That is fun, but the loss of her personal damage does not outweight the gain in shield uptime... If you play well, you can mantain the shield buffing you even if she has no defense at all. You have to not get hit ever, but its possible.

As a Xinyan main with similar ATK% and DEF% sands substats, I find that if you're focusing on her Charged Attacks, the DEF% Sands does damage almost on par with an ATK% sands, while also helping with rotations as it improves shield health on her, regardless of whose shield you're using on her I also find that as long as you figure rotations out, you can also very consistently trigger Melts with Rosaria's burst and Xinyan's shield pyro application

I have been doing Spin to win Xinyan for a while. Its real fun and people get shocked at how much damage she can do. I use a Bolide set with a DEF sands, crit circlet, attack Goblet, Beacuse the Bolide boosts CHARGE ATTACKS, when you spin to win the damage is huge. And any substat other then HP you get on the artifacts can build into some part of the kit.

I've been using Xinyan for speed runs in the Abyss with the Eula/Raiden superconduct team comp ever since I saw almost all the top 5 speed runs on The Golden House leader boards using her. She's actually pretty strong after C2! It's just Raiden E, Eula E, Eula Q, Xinyan Q, next floor. You can clear some floors in less than 10 seconds. Glad to see a good content creator giving her more spotlight.

Its because content creator already tested it and confirmed she has bugs and issue with her split scaling. They are just not randomly saying she is bad. Look at okcode who has a whale xinyan but he recommend people there are better unit to invest. Anyone can do dmg if you build properly but with that same investment others do way better.

I've been playing this game SUPER casually since week 1. Almost never missed dailies or events, but otherwise, I don't grind or level up much. I don't raise my AR, I don't do Abyss, and I only have TWO characters at level 90.... Noelle and Xinyan. Who share the only 5-star weapon I've ever pulled for. Stonethresher. Noelle's playstyle is what I like to bring online... support, heal, and never-dying.... and Xinyan is probably the only character in the game I'd say has a great design. So far, not a single 5-star has come even close to either of them in terms of gameplay and design for me.

For a charge attack build you need • C6 Xinyan • Redhorn • 4 piece blood stain (DEF sands, PHYS goblet, CRIT circlet) • Raiden, Rosaria, and Bennett

Raiden is meh and def sands as well, I'd recommend Skyward Pride over Redhorn, as there are characters, who can make a better use of it.

I wanna point out how good Skyward Pride on her is. The Er is welcome, for both her main dps and sub dps playstyle, the high base atk scales super well with her and its passive has a special synergy with her. Not only is it physical meaning it scales with her phys goblet etc, but it scales super well with her kit as well, her c6 increases your atk stat during your charged attack, this atk increase will also affect its passive's dmg. So you can E Q then charged attack until all blades are consumed. The passive will deal an insane amount of dmg and also frontload her dmg, as well as increase her aoe by a significant amount. She pretty much is the character, who can make use of this weapon the best, it is more of a cope option on pretty much any other character. So, if you got it, use it on her! With refinements it also pretty much shits on any other 5* option, as it scales incredible well with refinements and they aren't too hard to get either, as it is a standard banner weapon. The E Q charged attack combo can also be used in a sub dps kinda way.

my very invested xinyan is on a def sands since my only and best atk sands of pale flame is on my eula which is my accounts top priority. so my Xinyan actually runs a def sands with very good crit stats which won't beat out atk sands but helps her shield and charged attacks as well as my ocd to some degree

Xinyan + Kazuha with melt Ganyu is super powerful. My damage isn't that much different when replacing Xinyan with Bennett probably because Xinyan is a battery, mini shield, Pyro applicator and noblesse holder.

Xinyan will definitely be more appreciated if even a realistic approach of a Def-to-atk claymore of Homa was made and released. Like, I can imagine that it would be stack-based: after skill hits enemy x amount of times, passive "y" will be activated. "Y" will convert x% if def into atk for x seconds. I know the change could be made directly for her, but that will force expectations for that type of change be made on other desired characters.

for a cryo unit I would also consider Shenhe for the burst and phys shred but thats only if you dont use it in a cryo team. Overall this is a great guide tysm I built my Xinyan 2 weeks ago and I swear a lot of people thinks she is a lot worse than what she actually is

Missed the Chungyun, Shenhe, Kazuha(or other VV anemo) Cryo Xinyan melt team. It allows a 2 piece crimson with 2 piece blizzard, or a 4 piece blizzard set. Mostly with focus on charged attack. The melt aspect is a small bump in damage, but if timed right you can get a good number of reverse melts in for a good chunk of damage. Thanks to the 4 piece blizzard set bonus and cryo resonance, you can stack crit damage and only need about 30-40% crit rate base. Also don't overlook Yunjin as a team mate option for normal attack oriented teams, her damage boost is pretty close to a c5 bennet, in case you have c6 bennet and are not running xinyan mono pyro. Yunjin with a decent crit rate and a favonius can help provide energy for Xinyan as well. I also like to use Xinyan as a burst support for my Raiden, Rosaria, Xinyan, Eula team. Where I E on Raiden, E-Q Rosaria(or Q-E on the second rotation to battery Eula), E Eula, E-Q Yinyan(Giving Xinyan a very large burst and leaving some phys shread for Eula) Then Q-E Eula, getting a 3rd E(Triggering a super conduct thanks to the raiden E) just before the sword pop. Go back to Raiden to Q and eat up the other characters cooldown timers, and start again with a Raiden E. This team is a great team for Xinyan to use Akumarou, and a good team for Eula to use Redhorn(making it barely stronger than Pines) due to the rotation and stacking the defense buff from Eula's use of Es. Finally, there is some incidental melt and overload, this will last most of Eulas burst duration but should end just in time for Eula to do her 3rd hold-E and trigger that last super conduct before her sword pops(as well as trigger her mini sword). Eula's 2nd E should also trigger a nice reverse melt that will be a bump toward stacking her sword. As a side note for this team, you can swap out Rosaria for Sara, This will cost the battery function rosaria gives Eula but add Sara in who can buff Xinyan's burst and at the end of the rotation you swap to Sara so she can buff Raiden for her Q up time. You will need to be careful of timing the use of Eula's E to get the super conduct though, to make it easier I recommend doing Q-E on Xinyan, it will cost Xinyan the benefit of her own E's phys shred, but vs a single target boss it ensures her shield will not pulse and with a quick swap back to Sara to Q and use the overload to clear the pyro element from the enemy you can begin the Q-E on Eula and give Eula Sara's attack buff.

I use xiangling as Xinyan's burst support, as well as pyro resonance! I slapped qiqi on my team for healing, though the last slot is yet to be decided. As of current, I switch between razor, barbara and ningguang.

I have been using Xinyan from day one and I have to say, she has indeed grown for me bit by bit and I wouldn't be seen without her like my Noelle. Love Xinyan to bits!~ 💞 Also, Ever since the summer event with Kazuha, Fischl, Xinyan, and Mona, I have been using them together with Mona being the healer using the Proto nobless with a healing bonus circlet and I have to say they work amazing together and help each other eliminate their cons and gives each other energy extremely fast. I recommend giving the team a shot.

My Xinyan is relatively new to my account and only lv 40, But I decided to use her for the summer event (gotta play lore characters, right,lol) and I threw Wolves gravestone and a half raised Pale flame/ bloodstained set and I was really impressed with what she could do at only lv 40. So she was added to my list of characters I'm gonna build when I'm done with the current round.

xinyan works well as a sub dps to eula. eula, xinyan, layla (ToM artifact set) and kuki is a nice team. gives superconduct, buffs shield strength, provides shields and healing, provides pyro, electro, overload, physical and cyro damage/application, and buffs physical damage. aoe and single target damage too. Cryo resonance and layla batteries eula, Overall just a nice well roaded team.

For reference my talent 9 196 cdmg 104% phys dmg xinyan does roughly 39k with superconduct on pyro regisvine. Using broken pines as weapon (no passive) and 4 set pale (no passive). Point is if Oz at 140 cdmg and no other buffs can crit for 5k+ every second you start to realize maybe she's good not because SHE is good, but because she can work with broken supports fairly easily. In other words she's still bad, but she does have options. Also, sometimes we just need a bad b in our lives.

What Xinyan needs is a Patch that adds a new free claymore which would look like a burning guitar, an enhanced version of her idle guitar. Together with her Hangout for a new Skin n new Artefact Domain with a new Set that fixes her flaws. The weapon, lets call it "Hard Rock" or "Burning Passion" should have like Albedos sword plus 69% DEF and have as effect the ability to increase both CR and CD% under Shield Effect by 24/26/28/30/32% plus another ATK Bonus based on flat 20% of her DEF Artefact: Hot Bolero 2PS: Phys DMG + 25% 4PS: Increases ATK Speed of Claymore with this in Party by 25% and increases your Physical DMG output for every spent Stamina Point of your Party for Charged Attacks by +0,125% (Max 960x0,125% =120% more Physical DMG if everybody has 0 Stamina left, 40 if you play solo) This Effect doesnt Stack. Xinyans Theme is Spin to Win, lets let her be the best n fastest at that, plus the longer you spin, so deadlier it becomes. So would be this set also a nice side support for other claymore Wielders like Diluc, Beidou, Itto, Eula and Noelle, as also Razor that would profit from the ATK SPD support in their DPS indirectly.

Building Xinyan has been..an issue for me for a long time, since Dragonspines release basically. I called her a "Floke" a Broken, but fixed broken build. I fixed her AGAIN and now she smacks 12k physical on her Ult.

With the right set up and C2 on Xinyan you can easily hit over 100k+ ult DMG on the physical portion alone. If you're lucky to get Wolf's Gravestone on the standard banner her ult can hit for over 180k. Highest I've had it was just over 200k burst but there's many videos on others hitting 300k+. Idk how but probably food buffs or event buffs.
