When my mom was in high school they did the same thing for homecoming. They made the floats but they also slept near the floats. See in her school they sabotage the other graders floats. (I don’t know if they were allowed to but they did.) So while half of the people slept near the floats. The other half was sabotaging the other floats. It was a crazy story she told.

I actually had that experience one time, but instead of floats it was art pieces, and I had made a General Grievous costume and I loved the work I did. But turns out, one of the judges was drunk or just plain out ludicrous. He said, and I quote, "That sus bed is a true masterpiece!" What he meant was a bed that was right side up, and had a white pillow glued onto the the top half of the red mattress, making it look like an among us character!! HE CHOSE A CHARACTER FROM A VIDEO GAME INSTEAD OF A VILLIAN FROM THE BEST SCIENCE FICTION SERIES EVER CREATED!!!
