Mark you are raising that young lady right. You are making a huge impact on her wellbeing as an adult. I think it’s by far the most valuable skill a child can develop is the ability to do hard work and not think they are above it. To learn that hard work is how you get ahead in life. I wish all kids had parents like you and your wife.

I have great respect for farmers!! You all have to be agronomists, chemists, engineers, botanists, computer experts, mechanics, mathematicians, and wizards among many others skills!! Growing up on a small farm, there was very little automation and certainly no computer assistance! The greatest challenge was switching from hands-on to the new fangled milking machine! Those were the not-so good old days!!!

I can sympathise with you about the weather. I retired after 44 years as a Aussie farmer, and the best thing was that I didn’t have to worry about the weather . Still every job has it’s downside, looking back I believe it to be the best job on earth.

Mark - Great to see Jess in the cab with you for a bit of father daughter bonding. I very much enjoy watching your family work together on things. I'm sure it's not always all smiles, but this was a great day for the two of you. God's blessings on your growing season, and to you and your family.

And here I thought you were just being a gentleman, letting the little lady have the best seat.....but, you were making her work🥰🥰. Great video and congratulations Jess on your next step on the ladder, both in planting and your graduation. The restraints of covid-19 have given more time for learning daily life skills on the farm. Be safe and well and, plant on, the warm will arrive soon.

SOme of the pods on the canola will probably turn white-ish and wither, but canola usually produces far more more pods than it can actually support long term, so unless it is very severe I wouldn't be too worried, there are "backups". Here in Denmark alot of our canola fields got quite a bit of frost right after flowering started, but looks very good now, especially with the horribly wet early fall we had :)

My goodness she looks like her Mom. I'm so glad I found Sandy's channel and now yours. I'm one of those who would of loved to be a farmer. Unfortunately that was not in my cards. I was born in Denver Colorado in 1959. I've been in Cheyenne Wyoming for the past 35 years. Mostly Ranching in Wyoming. Very little actual farmer here. Are you in Canada? You accent says yes. LOL

Hi Mark. Jess is certainly a daddy’s girl. I love how you guys interact. I do hope your canola survives. Hopefully soon everything will get back to normal. It must be here in Australia because at the beginning all of the political leaders were saying that we need to be on the same side to fight this together. That period is over. The knives are out the mud slinging has restarted. In Australia the states have had their borders closed. The pressure is on now to open borders. A lot of the premiers disagree they want to go slowly. I guess it will sort itself. Stay safe. As you get warmer we get colder. 🥶

Another nice video! I had to take a break in the middle of watching because Sandi went online live! Tough competition there. I know the machine runs with a GPS, but does that control the speed also or do you have to at least press on a gas pedal? Great inventions for farming I must say. ❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍🚜🚜🚜🌾🌾🌾
