This might be random and perhaps useless, BUT, the laws in Texas have been changed regarding service dogs in training, they ARE allowed at stores, restaurants, offices, schools, and public transportation with their trainer. Although I’m not sure if there is a certain “level” the dogs training needs to be at to be allowed these public accesses 🤷‍♀️

Silvia JImenez yes there is a level required because by law it says the dog has to be under control at all times and not be a distraction, so whether in training or not the dog has to be already trained, the “in training” just means the dog is training in public now but already knows everything.

Service Dog Colt, thanks for letting me know! I want to be able to help people who have SD’s and not be inaccurate about the laws. I would not be able to forgive myself if I reprimanded an actual service dog and their trainer.

I’m in Houston Texas looking for a psych that knows anything about service dogs! I have one recently and have stopped all my meds etc! My job wanted a physiatrist to approve the dog but I am 100% sure I don’t want to go back on meds! It’s hell
