Both the dear and the lion fade in at the start, and the deer fades out at the end. There are three explanations I see: 1. They are both ghosts, (Unlikely since they fade in just as they are entering and fade out when they are leaving, when most ghosts do the opposite when cameras are around.) 2. It's some kind of massive compression algorithm, (I suppose the camera might store the unmoving background as just a couple images, and then when all the space is used up it starts chipping away at the beginning and end of scenes with moving creatures to make more space. However, I've never heard of anything like it. Furthermore, if the camera actually did run out of space and tried to make more, I would expect the resolution to go down, as is the case with any image that you might try to compress, and not just at the ends of the video. Granted if somebody were to pay me to write a video compression algorithm JUST for forest cameras set up for years on end, this is what it would look like.) 3. It's fake man. (But then why put both the mountain lion and deer into the video? Why not just use the video where the mountain lion was found and put the deer into it?)

For those who don't know, what the hedgehog at 0:22 is doing is called self-anointing. It is when a hedgehog (or other self-anointing animal) smells or eats something with a strong odor, and then makes a paste out of it using their spit and spreads it on their quills. The reason for this is not entirely known. I've seen many different theories, but reaserchers are unable to fully confirm why. In conclusion, hedgehogs are cool and I get excited when I see them. I don't really know why the little guy in the video turned his body like that though, maybe it was just trying to reach behind itself and couldn't.

I don’t know from injury he received made him disable but he never flew. But anyways he would never leave and he would wait at the door to come in cause he liked being inside more. Well 1 day my mom left him alone outside for maybe 10mins and well a hawk slit his throat and killed him. Not sure how the hawk saw him cause he was on the patio where it’s covered. Only thing is that he walked in the yard where he got spotted. But yeah cut his throat and you could see his last meal. Pretty sad.

ummmm what is this portraying
@Mr.Ambrose_Dyer_Armitage_Esq. Жыл бұрын
@@deepfriedlettuce. Predatory mutualism, _in jest_ (I don't actually know why a mountain lion is leading a buck through the dark). In this attempt at a joke, I suggested that the Mountain Lion (a nocturnal predator) was leading the deer (a diurnal herbivore that's generally prey to predators like the mountain lion) through the dark to find some does (female deers) which the buck could mount and breed, thereby producing fawns (child-equivalent deer with greater quantities of energy rich fat, like piglets and calves which people eat) by the next spring. Fawns are smaller and weaker and thus, prime prey for wild cats like Mountain Lions which can separate them from their parents, hunt them down, and consume them with fewer issues than'd be had taking on nimble does or horn-crowned bucks. The joke is, the buck thinks the mountain lion is being nice for leading it to females when, in reality, the mountain lion is thinking ahead and helping the buck reproduce as a feline form of unspoken animal husbandry. It'd be like if you were lost in the forest at night and a werewolf--which you might fear'd normally rip you shreds and dine on your viscera and muscles--happens upon you and proceeds to lead you to a bunch of horny cheerleaders dancing around a fire with spirits in hand and mischief on the mind. You'd be thinking, _"AWESOME! Not only will I live but, I get to bang all these bodacious babes!"_ The werewolf then proceeds, years later, to feast on all the children born to your sordid fun, thinking in the moment, _"This idiot thinks I'm being kind but, I just can't wait to devour the next generation of stupid humans."_ It was my attempt at black humor, centered on morbid misunderstanding but, now that I've laid its meaning bare, it's no longer funny. You have your explanation but, it came at grave cost...

I know exactly the feeling with the pigeon. We have one living 24/7 in our house. He sleeps at night in the study, flies around the house during the day, mostly my room, has his own wicker basket nest that he flies out to collect twigs for and goes out for a 20 minute jog flight every morning. No cages or anything. He's a right bitey asshole too.
