Pleasant people look much more pleasing to the eyes than unpleasant people, really. People are quick to comment on appearances because this is the underlying thought to their words, even if they’re not aware of it. It’s basically how people don’t actually hate others for being dumb, they hate others for being terrible, and if they’re dumb, they’ll use that against them. Being dumb is just an innocent casualty in the argument, as are all Hot Topic employees due to this woman.

Whats funny is her misrepresenting it as CP is litteally illegal under US law it's a CESM law so she is in violation of the law she says anime/manga is in violation of. Also if she had her way many of the things she has in the background would be illegal.

Except she is not in the USA, so.. USA law is not applicable in the country where she currently resides.

@touma-san91 It doesn't really matter, I was just making a point and another point (if I am remembering correctly,) I think Ireland is one of the countries that made actual SA against children less of a crime to be "accommodating to Muslim immigrants," which is messed up and probably racist.

I cannot state this strongly enough: If you cannot discern fantasy from reality, then the problem is you. Miscategorizing Anime and Manga does NOTHING to help victims of SA or protect children. Your ideas of causation are flawed. We have people in positions of power, people with wealth that makes them untouchable by our legal systems, hell, we have a judicial system that lets Predators walk again and again... so... the issue is not a damned anime. It is the deeper corruption in the very hearts and minds of the people we are ironically turning to, to protect us. We even have a felon for President... so yeah... censoring anime is really gonna fix the issue. Sarcasm.
@generalsol4 сағат бұрын
The most ironic thing is how these people say Japan is so dangerous to women yet Japan is statistically the safest country in the entire world. Maybe anime and manga is not the problem maybe the problem is the Western world really doesn't give a damn about trying to solve actual problems and would rather just tell people be like us

They like to point out the women only train cars as a problem but the issue of SA on trains exists in every country with trains and Japan is the only one that solved it.

I'm pretty sure no data supports this idea that banning/censoring manga, anime, and hentai will lower rates of SA in Japan, in fact it wouldn't surprise me if evidence supports the exact opposite, that access to manga, anime, and hentai correlates with lower SA rates in the country.

Met someone last year, who tried to protest that everyone except for white people where oppressed in the western world, (who then got one of my friends to ban everyone who disagreed with her), so I went on a tirade about the countries where people are actually oppressed where info is suppressed, where a gender is literally given one acceptable right. But what was worse was when she pointed the issues with Japan, they sounded very familiar, I genuinely think these people will point at China when asked where Japan is on a map.

I only noticed this because of how she did her make up: She's moving her head a lot as if she was giving a keynote during a press conference at some event, and not in her room. Heck, even the times she was actually looking into the camera looked like she was speaking to the crowd behind us. I'm only surprised she didn't start off her rambling with something like "My fellow Americans..."
