Another documentary also name “a way out” it about how families like the first girl borrow and selling everything to bet on the education of their children but the end results are not much different if their have just worked in the factory because the education resources are very limited in rural China. Being top of your class in rural China doesn’t not mean you can get in to a good University. Most end up in bad university and end up working in jobs that does not required a degree.

Thank you for this essential relevant documentary - what lives we live - and how much we know about each other’s lives is what matters most to our individual happiness. After all there’s more joy in giving than taking -

Sorry for my rusty Chinese. I truly wished her story was going to be a happy one, it breaks my heart to see her parents think that girls do not deserve an education because my grandparents were the same way. Wishing her all the best!

"A country without documentary films is like a family without a photo album....." This really speak to me..... And thank you for sharing your family photo album.....😊💚♥️🙏
i agree, you live for yourself. yourself before others. this is not called selfish, it's called survival. if you can't take care of yourself, you can't take care of others. you're happy, everyone else around you will be as well

Documentary directors in China often produce works which are so outstanding and touching that dwarf their counterparts of box office busters. China becomes real through their lens.

Jenny Man A lot of it is Chinese politics, but actually sometimes we live in China, and even if you know it, as a 25-year-old girl, it doesn't help

Jenny Man 那是因为中国是一个发展很不均匀的社会,而且也是在不同社会形态下过渡阶段,一半封建一半资本,充满了冲突。所以题材很多。在一定程度上,中国的纪录片导演比国外好做。

Hi! I'm Cristian and I'm from Chile in Latin America. I recently saw this video and was a very touchy experience. I like to thanks for the people behind this masterpiece, we need people like you, you're necessary for our society. We need to know "other realities" and we need to improve them. Thanks very much. If there any option that I can see the documentary in any platform? Thanks again and best regards from Santiago of Chile.
dear channel admin, I love the documentary you guys are making. but can you also upload a version which will be dubbed in English so that as a international viewer I can enjoy them fast without pausing it. English is not my mother tongue, it is the international language that understand by every country. lastly huge love from Bangladesh, please keep up the good work.
Its actually really thoughtful of her to acknowledge every one of every social class has its own struggle and isnt fair some times to judge if someones suffering is really more than yhe other
