This is called "Pads", man! He has programmed the bass notes on his pads and just need to hit the propper one to play the right note...You can trigger the sounds you want on those machines receiving MIDI sounds...just like samples on keyboards etc...

@ThePoisonDoor Yeah darkwave sadly has never gotten the recognition it deserves, though I have seen a lot of Cruxshadows merch out in public places Im sorry when I wrote "modern bands" I meant modern mainstream bands. My best friend is very into alternative indie music (she introduced me to these guys) and it just blows me away how similar their style is. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs' Karen O sounds and looks so much like Siouxsie.

As a band (is QOTSA the last band?), I agree. About tnis song?: just listen the timing used in reiterations. I like SWR but still they don't metabolize very well some of their influences (old and new). Is good to be a fan, but not too much until lose imparciality. Keep on rocking.

i think its easy to compare interpol, franz ferdinand or the editors to she wants revenge because of a) the vocals are similar and b) the musical arrangements are rather similar. having said that though, she wants revenge definitely falls into dark wave. that's where the lyrics come into play as well. fucking ace performance though.
