If a scan can confirm that her ovaries are ok, she can try lVF and get someone to carry the pregnancy for her. The names of the drugs cannot solve the problem. Their are some blood groups that normally find it very hard to conceive. That could have been the case here. Remember, this happened many years ago when they were ignorant and naive. Many of us had the same experience. We are in 21st century, therefore, the man could help her with a surrogate to have a child for her or help her with adoption. Even with his description of the drugs that will not help because the drugs in question may have been removed completely from the shelves and no longer in production. Both should work with modern technology than dwelling in the past.
