Maybe I don’t understand the culture, but I found this series very disturbing. Mental, emotional and physical abuse to a spouse…marital rape (because no means NO)…and then the writers have the nerve to have the female character forgive the husband just from an ‘I’m sorry’ and protecting her from one external attack that he didn’t cause? Scenarios like this perpetuates abuse and feed social acceptance that abuse should not only be tolerated, but easily forgiven and that the victim should not report the abuse to the authorities. If this series, though fictional, in any way reflects the Chinese culture, then I feel sorry for their female population. Shameful to propogate acceptance of beatings, rape, humiliation for any length of time and think that an ‘I’m sorry’ will change the true nature of an abuser.

Honestly, I want her to run away so bad 😭 its too much. His actions cannot be justified. I dont like the ending, my chest still hurt because I know he doesn't deserve her. The story is quite difficult to stomach given the amount of abuses that is dished out. However, the issues are with the script writers. It is NOT the fault of the actors and actresses, I actually found the casts acted very well especially if you see the other part of this show. The casts did extremely well.

It’s the fault of the actors for continuing to take these types of projects. This pair of actors in particular seem to participate in ultra-violent toxic dramas where the male lead unforgivably abuses the female lead and then has the audacity to pretend to be sorry. This should be shown to young women as an example of abusive relationships and to teach them how to avoid them.

Esse drama retrata bem um relacionamento abusivo e tóxico , onde a mulher é dependente financeiramente do marido, sem auto estima e também sofre de síndrome de Estocolmo, coitada. Já o cara personagem principal retrata muito bem um cara machista que vê a mulher como um objeto e uma vagabunda lógico, bem clássico. É muita passação de pano pra ele que no final vira o moçinho, enquanto demonizam outra mulher na famosa rivalidade feminina e por fim ela é a louca e culpada por tudo o cara vira um santo. Acho que esse drama reforça todos os estereótipo ruins (de que mulher que sofre abuso não vale nada por decidir permanecer nesse tipo de relacionamento, de mulher louca que leva a culpa de tudo e de que homem independente do que faz é sempre bom e capaz de se regenerar) , esse final é péssimo. A personagem principal deveria ter dado a volta por cima. Se fosse vida real com certeza o fim disso seria um feminicidio.

Sim! Concordo, eles tiveram mais de 2 horas pra fazer uma construção boa de filme/minissérie. Mas não, o passar de pano e a negligencia de toda tortura psicológica e física que a Protagonista sofreu. I guess they like their paychecks so much that they don’t care that they are participating in the worst sort of misogynistic propaganda that normalizes men abusing women and women accepting it. 🤷🏻‍♀️ the fact that his male lead character has the audacity to pretend that he loves her all while he is abusing her; his audacity to sell her to another man to rape and then show up to save her and act worried about her is pathetic and disgusting. I liked their other cdrama where both of them, the ML & FL were just so upright cool & funny even. The ML to some extent tortures the FL coz of his sad experiences during his childhood. Tho its not an excuse for him to be this brute. The FL acted her role well. She was able to carry her part to the point that I liked to wring her neck for being so stupid to have endured the ML's abusiveness. In p2 however they live as one family only for the ML's mom, FL & son endure more sufferings coz of the ML labile character changes brought about by his advanced brain tumor that should've been operated on early since which he refused. Hence his decision to act more irrational towards them. As for the ending of p2...it remains to be seen. I'm not gonna spill more of the beans. 😊

lol its no surprise to be honest its how all these chinese abusive dramas end. I have only ever seen one were the fl leaves the guy and walks away. I keep getting these chinese short dramas on my time line.. and its been few weeks I have not clicked into it but today I did... and boy was I regretful! and I saw part 2 befor part 1 lol as I didnt know there were 2 parts..lol. I did not enjoy a bit of it.. made me 🤢

I really enjoy this actor. I just found this ml character so disgustingly mean that I can't say i enjoyed this show. Watching her be a victim through the majority of it, seeing the child neglect and abuse...it was all too much. Production of the show was good. I really appreciate the link to the second half.

He belongs in a huge production, like "the yanxi palace". They both do. I'd love to see them in a remake of that drama whose FL has a maple leaf tattoo. Or even the "maid's revenge". The maid's revenge ML is delicious but it would be an opportunity to overwrite that dreadful end that broke all our hearts 😂....or "because of love" would be a great remake option for those two because of their chemistry
