It generates a lot of problems on so many levels: sports, legal aspects, social aspects, etc. In the case of Lia Thomas, you can only infer he changed sex to compete, as it isn't something that can be undoubtedly proved. And this applies on every other aspect. Like it or not, as much as many people hate it, there are only two sexes: male and female. You are assigned one at conception (not birth), and that's that. Abnormalities like hermaphrodism are that... abnormalities. They're not the norm. As much as you change certain aspects of your sex, you will never be able to change it 100%.

I agree that someone who was born biologically male and thus has an unfair physical advantage over biological women should not be allowed to compete in women's sports competitions. But Lia Thomas has a right to her gender identity in her private life. If she wants to identify as female, then that should be accepted. Those are two separate issues, and dead naming and using the wrong pronouns is disrespectful to her feelings. Just as it is disrespectful to the feelings of these women if Lia Thomas is allowed to compete with them. Should Lia Thomas have had the common sense to not compete, knowing she'd have an inherently unfair advantage over the other contestants? I'd say yes. But insulting her won't make the situation any better.

I would freak out if I had to undress in front of a male., let alone a "shim" in public I have since had depression, panic attacks, with PTSD. It was not abortion they wanted to overturn but they knew if they got a Supreme Court that could end abortion then they could go after the real target which was AFFIRMATIVE ACTION. To attack affirmative action head on would have drawn a more severe response from the left.
