🌱 Meet Leslie Bennett, founder of Pine House Edible Gardens. With over 27 years of academic training in environmentalism and landscape, Leslie’s journey took a sharp turn when she realized she was disconnected from the real-world practices she was writing about. A wake-up call during an internship led her to start WWOOFing on weekends while working at a law firm-a place that made her deeply unhappy.
After a transformative two-week permaculture course on a mushroom and apple farm in Herefordshire, Leslie found a new path. "I was happy for the first time in a long time," she recalls. That moment of joy sparked the idea for Pine House Edible Gardens, where she combines her love for landscape with a passion for growing food.
