Condemned house is just that it isn't fit to live in. It still belongs to the owner or estate

It's not uncommon for the city to tape a sign and forget about it. While still collecting tax dollars to "beautify the city".

What could happen, when the city condems the property, is that the city would demo the building and places a lien on the property for the cost. If the property owner doesn't pay, then the city goes to court to get a judgment for the cost, and then they can get the sheriff to sell the property for the judgment.

It blesses my heart to see how many people you bless, even if it's "just" neighbors to an abandoned place. My husband had back surgery several years ago and couldn't do any yard work for over 6 months. Several friends secretly came over one day and pulled weeds, mowed, etc. We were blown away. But, this says a lot about your town's government to ALLOW and neglect such a severe overgrowth to a public walkway that can attract vermin and put people in harms way. Great work for that neighborhood. I don’t know why cities aren’t more proactive in taking ownership of such properties and auctioning them off, including back real estate taxes in addition to the auction price. That would be a no brainer in getting properties renewed in some way.

People's rights in their property still have to be respected, and so I imagine the legal processes involved in taking a property are probably both time-consuming and expensive. It does seem very sad that the property owner is probably in a bad situation financially ,and that the property has fallen into such a state.

This is amazing to watch as are all of your videos. On top of what we see, you must spend countless hours removing all the debris to a different location and going through all the tall grass and weeds initially to remove objects that can damage the mower. Also other things we don't see. You are extraordinary!

The answer to your question is the city can’t charge the owner due to death. So the city won’t clean up the grass on the sidewalk and property due to money 💰!! Great Job on this property again! ❤️🙏❤️

Large property! From your camera's perspective, it looks like neighbours on both sides haven't been keeping up the sidewalk either......probably explains why it was so covered with soil and grass!!!
