These days people think it's creepy to socialize with neighbors, and will cut you off if you're a decent folk. What I understand by this is that it's so important to live in a decent Islamic neighborhood that if required, one MUST change their whereabouts for the sake of their afterlife, so they can practice the important social aspects of Islam! I have challenges with this, the neighbor’s daughters , my age, do not speak to me but my husband greets them with wide smiles, stares and greetings. However, since they don’t wish to acknowledge me, I still greet their mother with respect. I cleanup their front house stairway as it alongside ours, and I would wash their sidewalk as it is also alongside theirs. I’ve also greeted the father who says he’s a pastor but he doesn’t answer so I stopped. I’m not spiteful to them but I don’t like my husband speaking them since they do not even say hi or hello to me. Insha’Allah Allah swt accept my charity of cleaning their property without their knowledge.
