As a Spanish speaker I'd recommend you to maybe separate some of the resources by country of origin. Most of the resources I saw in the clip are Spain's and Mexico's Spanish and they vary greatly 😅 both in grammar some times and a lot in vocabulary and pronunciation, so it'd be best for a Spanish learner to pick one they would like to learn. (Maybe this could apply to French too with Canada and France, I studied France's French and oftentimes can't understand very well a Canadian speaking)
@SheaJordan3 жыл бұрын
That’s a good note - thank you!!! I’ll go through those today and note the different resources.
@melissavillegas163 жыл бұрын
@@SM-vz1ek Ooh that's cool to know 😮 that's why I said maybe 🙈 it was just from what little I knew from my French teachers commenting on Canadian French and me not understanding very well some KZbinrs/Instagrammers. In Spanish, a big grammar difference I notice between Mexican and Spain's is speaking in past. Mexico we mainly use a simple past while Spain uses something like passé composé. So a detail like that can really change the structure...
@mariaijebd16373 жыл бұрын
@@melissavillegas16 this is so true. I'm from México, and for the first Spanish show I watched, I had to put on subtitles because I couldn't understand what it was said at first 😅😅. But after two or three episodes I got used to it. But yeah, they're both quite different, so it's better to choose which one you want to learn

Maybe reading websites or even watching movies with subtitles on. I don't know if it works like with flash cards, but it helps a lot.
@ErmyPedata2 жыл бұрын
@@ezequielgervasio reading and listening to things that are of the right level for you can actually help a lot with improving your vocabulary! Sometimes we underestimate the resources we have already: for example, if you do a reading exercise with true or false questions, go deeper and analyse the text in the exercise; see what new vocabulary you can take from the text and use it in your own speaking. Keep a notebook as a "personal dictionary" where you keep and list your new vocabulary with examples (written by you). Going through this notebook can help remind you of the new vocab you learn. :)

Hi there! So I use Adobe Premiere. I actually have a video on editing for beginners on my channel! It's just an older video so it's kinda far back. I never spent time just practicing it, I learned how to get faster at it just by editing my own KZbin videos and seeing what work flow was best for me. I also learned SO much just by searching KZbin for tutorials. It's something that takes time to get used to, especially because the editing platforms can seem super overwhelming at first. But once you get that down, you can start looking up how to do more editing techniques and keep building from there!

I'm gonna say this, on the about 1000th polyglot channel, and hopefully someone will finally get it: YOU CAN'T GET "BURNED OUT" BY SOMETHING YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE PASSIONATE ABOUT ! IT JUST DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE AT ALL ! Here are the tools that get you burned out in language learning: 1- NOTEBOOKS: You can't run away from the school's method to replicate exactly that in your self-study journey, and hope not to be burned out. TEXTBOOKS: Well, beyond the fact that a language will NEVER ever come out from a textbook, I will just say this about them, use boring stuff for learning and you'll get bored, period. 3. FLASHCARDS: ...Don't really have many things to say about this one. Here is just the cancer of learning in general. Do you like cancer?.. 4. APPS: ...Apps as language teachers.. a joke. 5. DESKS: This one could sound a little bit funny but, WHY ON THE EARTH DO SOMEONE NEED A DESK, A TABLE AND A CHAIR, TO LEARN A LANGUAGE? IS IT MATH OR SOMETHING?.. ...I always wander why people always need to feel like they're really "physically working hard" to convince themselves they are productive. The "School mindset", that's exactly the reason why people are failing, and will continue to fail, learning languages (this, and the "6 months / 12 months" stuffs..). Languages are the only skill every human is certain to be able to master. Each of us is a living proof of this statement. Stop with those counter-productive habits and I can assure you that even the dumbest person will be able to learn ANY language in this world. Note: an advice from a man on his 25, 4th months of learning Mandarin and Italian; who can't speak any language fluently apart from his own (French), and even struggling with English that everybody speaks; but who is certain to become a Master in Mandarin and Japanese within the next 10 years, without any of those "burnout tools" I listed above. ...Good luck to all of us. From Cameroon.

Thank you for all this, but I still disagree on the main “you can’t burnout from something you’re passionate about” argument. I’m incredibly passionate about making KZbin videos and creating social media content, but I can find myself shooting videos, editing, creating content and working for hours and hours because I LOVE it and I absolutely get burned out. That’s why I and many other youtubers often have to take breaks from making videos. You can still get burned out from things you absolutely love. From your list above, I think you have to remember language learning is a highly personal and individualized process. Some things make work better for me than they do for others. Some people prefer apps and enjoy that method of learning, some don’t. Maybe these things burn you out, but it’s not true for everyone. I appreciate you sharing this and I hope your language learning journey continues to go well! Thanks for watching!

I really hope you know Portuguese is with the Portuguese flag not the Brazilian... because that's not a language

I’m aware. But a lot of my followers comment about learning Brazilian Portuguese, which is why I chose that flag. I know Brazilian isn’t a language.

so you’re whole channel revolves around languages and you speak 2?

I feel like this comment was meant to be rude? My channel is about my language learning experience and I’m currently learning Italian. You don’t have to be a polyglot who knows a crazy amount of languages to have a KZbin channel. Eventually I’d love to learn more languages, but I’m focusing on one right now and sharing my tips and experiences with other language learners.
