Growing up in Crockett County it was us kiddo's job to push the sheep and goats up the shutes for the shearing crew!! The shearing crew would come in and could shear a whole flock in 1-2 days. This was in the 60s and 70s.

Do they sell the wool to a mill or local spinners? That little Datsun is cute herding those goats. Yeah id not mess with shearing them if I could bring them to good shearers like that. It was intersting hearing about that farm.

Oh yeah there is good money in selling fleeces especially in bulk ammounts I just read processed cleaned angora fibers sell for $20 an ounce or $560 a pound👍

I know about the processes and cleaned… It’s a lot of work to do that. That’s not as much money as you think. I was curious about the original state fibers though. Man… that’s a job processing that stuff!

We officially stopped watering it a couple weeks ago. We knew we were taking a chance planting late but were too exited about our new beds. It literally never rained a single time after planting. We are planning a fall garden. Stay tuned!
