About time Carlie! I've been waiting for you to react to this one. I don't really care whether or not you caught a lot of the bars first time, neither did I until after a few listens. The first time I was just being blown away by the delivery, beat, flow changes and video so it was hard to concentrate on all the bars. I just love your enthusiasm, especially for Ren, and it helps that your voice is just like honey to listen to! Have a good weekend.

We are all Ren-dears with, as I read in a comment, a genre fluid Ren! We all witness the birth of a black hole in real time. His stuff is changing the world. He speaks to a point that reached everyone on the deepest level, no matter how old or which world view. It reached deep into the heart.

I never usually break down my own words because I love letting people apply their own meaning, but there was one line I wanted to explain. The title of the song. Alot of people took this to mean "The greatest Of Our Time" "Look for all the answers that I never seem to find, Till then I guess I'm still the illest of our time" Its my reluctance to be the illest - the clue is in the word 'guess' - ive spent the better part of a decade looking for solutions to the damage lyme disease dealt with countless doctors visits, and am still in that boat. "Illest" can also mean "dopest" "best" etc. So it's a bit of a double entendre. Same as "Sick boi" This theme is repeated with the line "elementary dear Watson you might find" cause Sherlock Holmes was always searching for the clues to piece the puzzle together, which is very relatable when trying to piece together parts of a very complex health picture, anyone with a very complex illness will relate to almost having to become your own detective. And finally "A pathologic entity - if eveything is set in stone then this is how its meant to be" Acceptance that this might just be the cards I've been dealt. To search for answers and simultaneously accept that chronic illnest may be your fate is a bit of a paradox because it is the rejection of acceptance that spurs you forward in the persuit of answers, but it is the acceptance that you may always be sick that let's you lead a more peaceful life... so one must walk this contradictory line between both opposing states to have the motivation to find the answers whilst not being so outcome dependent. I understand why so many people compare Ren to NF, but I honestly feel like the 2 are on separate levels. To ME, Ren is by far a more complete talent, not just because he plays multiple instruments (and KILLS it on guitar), but because his lyrical skills rapping, with the flow changes, etc. are simply next level....NF can't touch Ren.

Ren promises that from this song on he really will get serious. Because he is a masochist, the type to kill a pacifist (doesn't fear to fight), an alchemist of words (what is the objective of Alchemy?), an evangelist, spreading the good word but in a way that you think he is a cancerous pragmatist, and yes "think before I speak then I answer it" (he has the answers, but first you have to find the questions). As in 'Hi Ren' he tells as that he is Mercury (the messenger of Gods, also the trickster, who gets all the ladies he want), and he is Freddy (I think this is a reference to F. Kruger, the evil child killer) in one person (and actually playing with the name of Freddy Mercury in the same time). Don't just hear my word "eat my word fill your belly" because there is much to ponder. He is a fallen angel on his way to get back to heaven, so he fully shows himself to everybody, and if you go deep into " the corner of my cornea and mind" you may find the answers that even Ren could not find. Who could ask for anything more?
