This is one of my all time favorite foods ever hands down. I live around a large population of Yemeni people and absolutely love their food, culture, and everything they have brought to the area. I eat Yemeni food numerous times a week no joke! I have met some great people and have to say that Yemeni people are some of the most humble, respectful people I’ve come across. One day I hope to visit Yemen it looks beautiful with incredible history!

Have you tried to beat the hulba with an electric mixer? I always use the mixer and it fasten the process.

My Yemeni grandma used to make hilba, i follow her recipe and now my wife does. Nothing like it anywhere in usa. By the way, i grind the fenugreek seeds myself and soak the powder overnight. Works every time. Add lemon juice and salt and whip. Thank you.

Fahsa is one of my favourite Yemeni food. What is the substitute of fenugreek if I can't find any in Karachi?

A lot of people add a bit of vinegar to the hilbeh gives it a kick and makes it fluffy and more white in color

so this is fahsa and salta togther? i know that the athentic fahsa does not have all the ingredients. its just alittle onion and bell pepper cooked in the clay than just add the meat and shred, with little of the marq. helba on top.
