1) In just a couple of hours I sewed myself a light dress from what I had: the style would suit any figure.
A spacious dress is easy to sew with your own hands. Even without a pattern.
Today I sewed this for myself in two hours.
I have several pieces of light fabric, but I decided to sew a combined one from my old clothes. I have a striped knitted suit with a floor-length skirt. I kept wanting to shorten it, but I never got around to it.
I made a dress from it. I also cut out a black yoke from a small dress.
Important! When sewing knitted fabric, be sure to change the needle to a special one for knitwear, otherwise the stitches will skip.
So, I took my T-shirt, which fits me well and does not fit too tightly.
“I folded it lengthwise, in half, and traced it onto paper. I slightly lengthened the shoulder line, about 4 cm.
I drew a line for the yoke. You could say that's the whole pattern.
But you need to measure your chest and hips. And check these measurements on the pattern - increase or decrease. But, most likely, the top part will match, since they measured using a suitable T-shirt.
Now we need to cut out the yoke and bottom. My skirt fit my measurements exactly, I didn’t even unrip it at the sides. If there is a piece of fabric, then, of course, it needs to be cut.
Next, I sewed the yoke to the skirt on a sewing machine, and then overlocked it with an overlocker.
I eliminated all the defects myself. When I tried on the dress, I noted where I needed to trim it and cut off the excess.
So I made the neckline deeper and trimmed the armhole at the bottom.
I overlocked the neckline and sleeves, then folded the fabric 1 cm and made the final stitch.
The simplest processing.
Just in such a dress it will not be so hot, the fabric is well ventilated. I feel comfortable in it.
The style is universal and will suit any figure.
My dress size is 50-52.
I showed all the stages of the work, if you have any questions, ask, I will be happy to answer.
2) How to sew a new dress from an old sweater and a piece of fabric in just a couple of hours, even without sewing skills. The style is suitable for any age.
Today I have an idea on how to sew a full dress from a sweater and other fabric.
The style is the simplest, but nevertheless interesting. Moreover, this dress is very comfortable, it is loose and does not restrict movement.
This dress can be made with a high or low waist.
So, for work you need a sweater that is lying idle in the closet and which you don’t mind using as an experiment.
You need to try it on and note at what level the waist line will be. After this, cut off the excess part. If there are stripes, then you need to take this into account so that the seam is even, relative to the stripes.
You will also need any suitable fabric 140-150 cm long, for example, knitwear. My skirt width is 70 cm.
To do this, I folded the fabric along its length and sewed a side seam, and overcast the edges with an overlocker.
I immediately swept over the bottom of the skirt and turned it up 2 cm.
The bottom of the product can be stitched and sewn by hand. I always smooth the adhesive tape over the web, then the edge looks neat.
There are never any problems with it coming off.
I laid a stitch on the other edge and gathered it into gathers. The top of the skirt should be equal to the width of the sweater.
I sewed the skirt to the sweater.
I smoothed and swept the gathers.
When there are such gathers on one side and a flat fabric on the other, the stitching should be done on the flat side, the folds are on the bottom.
I cut out pockets from the cut-off part of the sweater and sewed them to the skirt.
Ready!
The result is a dress in boho style, a style suitable for both girls and older women.
3) I look in the closet, there are a lot of things, but nothing to wear. I took out a dress that had been hanging unworn for 3 years and remade it. Now I want to wear it.
My dress has a high neckline, I will open it with a V-neck. For this I took knitwear.
I tried on the dress and noted the depth of the proposed neckline. I made marks, cut off the excess, and secured the corner with non-woven fabric.
The width of the finished facing will be 5 cm. Therefore, I cut out strips 12 cm wide. When cutting, the knitwear should be placed at an angle of 45 degrees or along the well-stretched side.
Fold the neck of the dress in half, attach the facing and mark its length.
It is important that the lower corner of the facing matches the shape of the neck. To do this, I placed the facing close to the neckline, and in the corner I marked a line, as if a continuation of the fold of the dress.
I cut off a corner. I unfolded the facing, made a seam, cut the fabric in the corner with scissors, not reaching the seam 2 mm, and ironed the seams.
I folded the facing in half and used an iron to give it a curved shape to the neckline.
I combined the corner of the facing and the corner of the neckline of the dress, as well as
