I did think about running Shed Tail Mega Sceptile because I also wanted to try the new toy but I realized that Reg Sceptile is straight up better for this role because -1) It can hold a Berry and get TWO Shed Tails off, 2) It can fire off an Overgrow Leaf Storm after the second Shed tail so it actually benefits from the lowered HP. 3) You save your Mega Slot. For these reasons I decided against using Shed Tail Mega Sceptile and ran fir 4 Atk Sceptile. IMO the most enjoyable showcase of a Mega is when it itself puts in work every game.

Because it's intense sun, not normal sun. The Pokemon Company/GF figured Primal's sun wasn't something they had to worry about in gen 9 so didn't set it as also activating Protosynthesis and Showdown! implemented it the same to follow accuracy to cart
