If you move the nesting boxes higher up, they will try to roost in them. Be wise, keep the boxes lower than your roost poles. Otherwise you'll end up cleaning the boxes constantly.

I was also concerned to have many nesting boxes... they use ONE lol. I put the eggs in the nesting box for a few days to get them to stop laying on the floor. We would take the others and leave one or two eggs. It worked pretty quickly!

I want to share some experience with the perches you made. We did it that same way at first and my chickens kept getting bumblefoot. After research chickens rather sit flat footed (like on a 2x4). Just keep an eye out for that bumblefoot. The tree limbs kept getting small splinters in their feet.
