You know, I like Shadeur. The competitive makeup, the playmaking instincts, the ability to attack on all 3 levels. He’s a high ceiling guy for sure. But I think the floor is lower than many want to acknowledge. And what you’re doing here is you’re replacing one quarterback who holds the ball way too long with another one that does the same thing. WAY too often I find myself watching the coach’s copy and I’m seeing him hold it and hold it and hold it and I’m screaming at the screen for him to get rid of damn ball. I also think Levis is a little better athlete than Shadeur, who unfortunately didn’t inherit any of his dad’s twitch or speed. And then the decision making: you know Levis is rightfully pilloried for some of his decisions but Shadeur is also really questionable at times in that area. I mean you turn on that Nebraska game and there are some AWFUL decisions on tape there. I mean that first pick was atrocious. And I know the blocking was far from ideal a lot of the time, but that’s gonna be the case in the league too, especially in a place like Tennessee, who’s gotten better up front but still has a ways to go. I’m not saying it won’t work but I don’t think he’s nearly as ready as someone like Stroud or Caleb or Jayden were.
