Yes Kandice is right, cash the check. If the buyer did end up paying then you would have an issue, because if you just shredded it they would probably send it to your local DOR for unclaimed money for you to claim later, like other checks that don't get cashed, like insurance overpayments etc.

Just like we have things that are "the cost of doing business" within our business model, USPS has the same built in. Whether the item was delivered or not, USPS failed to deliver within the promised time frame, and that is their way to make it right. I absolutely, positively would always cash the check. It is like Subway messing up your sandwich, but you've gotten home and realize it and they give you another sandwich the next time you go in when you let them know they messed up. You end up with a sandwich you paid for and a sandwich for your trouble. Customer service at its best.

First, love the new intro. Next, i would give the check back . Even though you struggled to find out what happened but still. And the leather crafting was a Tandy leather kits. I did it for years and even made my father a salesman wallet with the metal chain. He used it for 20 years, and he has since passed away. I did get it back and still have it. My favorite leather was the wrist band with our names on it that was cool. Keep up the great work, love the show and lessons .

Fair's fair. You're cashing it. If the USPS had done their job and not cost you money and time, that's one thing. My time bills at $40/hour minimum, so they'd actually owe more than the check is for. Companies wasted a ton of my time to get the refunds they owed me before, and darned tootin' I cashed their checks. Or blackisted their thieving behinds. Or both. Just FYI, I have seen a Wal-mart close down. It was one of their no-frills grocery stores with nothing but self-checkouts before the real stores went that way. It didn't make any/enough money here and they closed it. No loss.

Lonnie and Candice no you are not to return the check. They were to deliver that within a reasonable amount of time 10 days, maximum and we know it was almost a month. You're supposed to get some form of compensation for failure to deliver parcel in the contracted time frame you paid for by returning your postage and the costs that you were out in profit for the sale, if that check equals that amount, even if it's for $100 keep the check. It is not unethical because they made a decision 2 days before delivering the parcel. You did everything right on your end. 🎉🎉CASH THAT CHECK 🎉🎉👍😊

About 15 years ago I filed a claim for a lost item that I shipped to the UK. It sat in the post office in the UK for months. I guess the lady didn't want to pay the Duty or Tax. Then it was lost. I filed for the insurance. It was just under $300 USD. After 11 months I got a check from the Post Office and two days later the package was returned to me. I returned the check addressed to the Post Master General with a letter of complaint about how long it took to make me whole. They did respond with a letter of apology. Miracles do happen.

Absolutely cash it! Candice is right, no need to "justify" it, post office caused the problem to begin with... in fact, I would go to the window clerk and have them cash it out of their drawer 😂
@TizzyTown5 сағат бұрын
Cash it. USPS caused the inconvenience, to both parties, requiring time (money) for the seller and the buyer out time (money) by dealing with eBay and spending time communicating back and forth. USPS recognized the claim as valid and issued the check, regardless of product reaching buyer. Cash it. It's is both ethical and legal. This cost is 100% immaterial to USPS as far as their accounting goes I'd imagine.
@debbieoberacker86146 сағат бұрын
It was the post office fault that this happened to begin with. Cash the check! The post office broke a $50 statue I shipped with a lot of packing products, and I went through the claim process, brought the item to them and the post office manager didn't file the claim in time and I was denied a refund. In the end I was out product and I refunded the buyer $50. I even filed an appeal and they denied it as well. The post office is not always honest with claims.
@timallen23369 сағат бұрын
USPS has an obligation to deliver the package in a reasonable amount of time. They failed. You are under no obligation to tear up the check...
@geee1143219 сағат бұрын
If USPS did right by you to cover the cost of the item you paid insurance for, then keep it. Whatever happens to the package is no longer your responsibility after they paid you for the "lost item". If they wanted to throw that package in the trash after they paid you back for it, that would be on them. In this case they felt it was fine to deliver the package to the lady after they refunded you for it.

I'd keep it. Im pretty sure I went through the same scenario before. Every time I hear a story of rediclousness with reselling it gives me PTSD because I've had about ever scenario happened to me before. I remeber one time my mom sold a Scentsy thing for like $50 bucks through UPS and it got lost. And my mom did a insurance claim and it was a insane hassle and I think something happened with the claim where they said she had to start all over. And UPS claims are the worst. And then when they finally did accept the claim they were supposed to send the check in the mail. But the check never came. And when she contacted UPS they told her that their lost item claims the money has to go through Ebay so she needed to contact Ebays UPS division. I WAS LIKE WHAT? I can't remeber everything that happened exactly because it was a year or two ago but it was insane all the hoops she had to jump through and at the end they told her that check was already sent out and they couldn't do anything about it. Someone had to have fkd up because that doesn't make any sense. If something went wrong you should still be able to end up getting the check. All that shit is just such a mess. There's so many times I deal with Ebay or the shipping companies and I just think there's no way there isn't a better way then how their doing things. Other than FedEx. I've never had a problem with FedEx and they've approved insurance claims with 1 photo before ez pz.

Map pIck-up: some of those you showed (like the one with the yellow) are more likely Charts (Nautical Charts) rather then Maps. In either case, when they primarily show waterways, words like Nautical Chart, Maritime and Waterway are good Keywords to add to the Title, alongside Map or Fishing Map. As a retired Sailor, we used to use such charts for going in and out of ports. Some are pretty detailed. When I find them in large qty I group then up by port, since there are usually both large scale overview charts, as well as areas in greater detail that can take you right to a specific pier or berth. Many of the really good ones are NOAA Nautical Charts (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration). It looked like you ad a couple of those in the mix. 😉

It's USPS' fault that the item was late. The shipping was paid, the buyer received it late, so cash the check. USPS owes you that money. It's not stealing. USPS sent you the check to express their responsibility in it, so cash it. Period.

I said it before - my postmaster told me the BR hub broke down on November 15. Packages were being sent to other hubs, but I had a few packages that have still not been found and USPS sent me checks finally after over a month. The USPS doesn't notify you of anything, you just get a check.

I'd cash it. You're a business that sent out the product and it didn't get delivered. Really it'd honestly be better to cash it because the money was already allotted to come out of the USPS account so if you don't cash it they might actually end up sending the check a second time haha! If you were contacted from the seller and took the payout it'd be different but USPS is covering for your expected loses as far as I see it. Great videos!

USPS in Q4, prepare for lost mail or delays due to winter weather events.
