There are multiple things I really like about this podcast and none of the other basketball ones can hold a candle to. First, these dudes are pals and it's super apparent. No ass kissing or trying to outcool each other. And they're real and seem approachable. Genuine. Two, they gab about the NBA pros and cons and the stories are fun. No filter but also not any over the top harshness. It's like getting to hang out in the basement around the bong. Chill, friendly and fun. I may be biased as a Portland fan that got to see game 6 of the 2000 western conference finals live, but I always dug these guys and that team, because they played like a team. Just a great era for the Blazers.

Barely recall Sheed playing, but I get the same feeling you do. Compared to shows that somewhat resemble Gils show… The otherwise aligned with ESPN narrative, Bickering B-words shows are largely unwatchable… I am happy I stumbled into this.

CP is master ref and rule manipulator. Pretty sure he invented the "call a tech on that untucked jersey" snitch which is basically telling a ref how to do his job. They also changed two rules this season (stopping in front of a trailing defender, sweep through arm motion) because of how often CP and others exploited it.
