ABA was more athletic and exciting league than the NBA back then! If it wasn’t for the ABA we wouldn’t have the current era of 3pt shooters or the dunk contest.😳

My thought has always been, if it had stayed completely seperete for its (ABA) entire lifespan, I could see not including it, but if you buy and absorb not only some of the players of another basketball association, but also some of the teams, I think you need to include the records from that particular association as well.

This is a cool idea, but due to the different circumstances, I disagree. This would be very similar to the NFL including CFL stats...The ABA is an alternative league, not a league for players who were unable to play due to social factors. If I'm wrong about the reason why the ABA was created, please correct me so that I can update my database.

Not really similar to the NFL and CFL. The ABA and NBA merged together and many current things from the NBA is from the ABA. Same with baseball. N Leagues kinda merged with MLB and several concepts (Stolen Bases) in modern MLB is from the N League. With football, the NFL and CFL never had a relationship. And they are played in two different countries With NBA and ABA the fact they merged and the NBA adopted several concepts, teams, players etc. it is foolish to not count the players stats and teams stats with the NBA.

Your comment is pure ignorance. For the NBA bought the ABA and many TEAMS merged with the NBA...ENTIRE TEAMS. It wasn't just a few players that made the NBA, ENTIRE TEAMS made it...Nuggets, Nets, Pacers, Spurs Also BEFORE the merger when the NBA and ABA played games against each other the game were very close and the ABA won more games than the NBA record 62-34. So again your comment is very ignorant...educate yourself

This why laughing emoji = somethings dumb is about to be said because your wrong on all levels cause 1 the aba leads the all time nba exhibition matchup vs the nba. 2 players like spencer haywood and moses or young players who didn't follow the the traditional college could get paid and leave school early opening up what you see today 1 and done players. 3 the ABA always had the intention of being bought by the nba it was smart buisness and in the essence of it todays nba flair is all in thanks to aba revolution of a 3pt line, spacing, less dribble restrictions, dunk contest. 4 when doc, ice moses, came in you had 3 aba players win mvp and scoring chanps in consecutive years along with the championship teams in the finals involved many aba players the merger saved the nba not the other way around do your history

Major League Baseball voted to include the stats from the Negro League. This is a good idea just like the NBA acknowledging ABA stats
